Goodwin's presser: reference to 'looking at transition' at training this week, 'to play to Brodie's strengths'. Also references, thankfully, to 'tinker' and 'change' and 'better', in a context of specific study and learnings from previous Swans games.

The proof of those puddings, however...

Can't go in playing the way we usually play or they will most likely win and win comfortably.

The Cats demolition in the GF is the blue print on which all tweaks / changes are based surely.

Seven news

Oh get absolutely stuffed

Can we do some sort of sage cleanse? Too much bad juju

Jordon named in the 22, so we know he, May and JVR are all in. That’s likely the three changes (for Tomlinson, Gawn and Harmes).

Disappointed Hibberd couldn’t get in.

The most noticeable thing from the GF for me whilst I was watching it (which I didn’t see coming as Swans have pretty big bodies all over the ground) was Geelong absolutely bulldozed the swans around the ball. Really shook them up and the Swans couldn’t handle the level of physicality. They chit the bed.

Would love to see us do that to them again as I don’t think they’re used to being bullied.

First use of the Ball…..

Besides Buddy the two Sydney additions are interesting; both small/medium forwards.  Hall-Kahan appears to not have played an AFL game and Sheldrick (their first round pick in 2021) has played one.

Their website says: "Angus Sheldrick (28 disaposals) and Hugo Hall-Kahan (21 disposals, one goal) also feature in the extended squad after their impressive performances in the VFL"

Looks like Longmire has a specific plan.  Maybe he is going for the high pressure, run us off our feet approach and rely on a small(er) forward line.  It will be interesting who comes out for them and for Buddy.

Yes this is the blue print at least in the first half.  Heavy hitting one v one for the first two quarters.

Reset and a small tweak back to a tight zone thereafter if the scoreboard is in our favour.  If not ....keep wacking in and don't give them any room to breathe.

Does this mean Melksham is still in?

Surely if May in doubt the Tommo wouldn’t be dropped?

Geelong monstered the Swans in the GF.  If our side can be easily worked out then surely the Swans debacle will show all to Goodwin.

Hit em hard especially that smarty pants Parker.

McVee's done well but would love to see Pig in the final side

So essentially what Brisbane did to us last week.

Franklin back in. Will we fall for the obvious trick where he plays up the ground and drags May away from defence. (cue the praise for May when Buddy only scores one goal)... Buddy's not the man anymore

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
