Back to the game. Who is safe from being dropped?

Lever is the only one I’d confidently say has had a good game.

All members of the midfield a collective 2/10. Murdered in CP and clearance.

Bowey servicable, Fritta a pass. Brown, tick.Ā

Thats it.Ā

I honestly think today was a constant string of things that didn’t go our way. Salem, May, then Max. I also think the conditions worked against us, and worked really well for Brisbane. We are a much cleaner side than this usually.

Let’s not get sucked in by tonight. It’s been a rare one.

If the ACL is gone (particularly if it’s an already reconstructed knee), doesn’t make much difference if you walk around on the knee or not. Only thing this suggests is that he doesn’t have associated issues - big meniscal tear, tibial plateau fracture. Gonna have to wait for the scans/orthopaedic diagnosis.Ā

Thanks Webber.

FWIW I hear that this is the opposite knee to the one he has had reconstructed x2

Worst since the Sydney and Fremantle losses in 2020, IMO.

Although the post-May injury capitulation in Round 11 last year vs Fremantle wasn't too much worse than this.

A lot of tonight came down to conceding 4 goals in 7 minutes at the end of the first quarter.Ā

Yea can’t see why our mid gets smashed so badly even without GawnĀ

Tmac is Cooked as a player now just watch us get another injury🤯

It’s not the same knee he’s had reconstructed before.Ā

After tonight, is that any great loss

All I really care about is that Max is ok.

We will bounce back

Yes. Let’s not forget how good he is because he’s had a bad game along with 21 other teammates.Ā

This could be one of the most remarkable 12 minutes of football ever for the Melbourne football club Only 40 points. Let’s get it done

Don’t be like that. That’s poor.

Well we are definitely a bit short on defence at the moment. May, Petty....Ā

Maybe Disco could cover one of them but I am hoping May is back next week

Embarrassing post.

Sure, be angry, we've been trash tonight, but this is embarrassing stuff from you.

It's not going to happen, but in the extremely unlikely event that it does my smugness will be unstoppable.

Massive disappointment. Fumbled first touches, turnovers etc. Every bobble went Brisbanes way. It was not our night at any level. However, the real worry was the stunned response when Max went off - and the subsequent Brisbane goals up to quarter time. I think our lads tried hard as individuals, but no one seemed to take leadership control to steady the ship, keep composed and re-set. That is the real worry.

In the break, time to rate…

General anxious, fumbling scramble by MFC.

Major disappointments…

Brayshaw and Viney kicking turnovers

Petty stuff ups

having Grundy on bench when Gawn was off

having Petracca and Oliver on the bench together when we were being pumped

Petracca fumbles

McDonald not being able to fill second ruck duties

Ā

I think it's a case of us really only having 3 or 4 players performing.Ā

Harmes anb spargo langdon andĀ  melksham...all veterans have been lacklustre.

Just one of those nights.

Grundy ground level skills are good but his taps have rarely hit anyone but more concerning is has taken zero marks.

Remember last week Brisbane got rolled by 54 points. If we can get 2 goals back and lose by 28ish then that might make a big difference end of the year. A lot to play for still.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
