Channel 9 news just reported that TMac went in for scans today. Haven’t elaborated yet. Stay tuned.

UPDATE:

Just saw the spot on 9 news. They Doorstopped him at AAMI Park presumably walking from the radiologist place that is there back to the MFC facility. He is adamant that he will play this week and it’s just ongoing monitoring of his Lisfranc injury.

From about 1:42 of this clip

I remember seeing vision of McDonald and Goodwin in what looked like a serious discussion after the match to which McDonald and Goody both looked down  towards his foot.

I suppose Schache and JVR will be very interested in the outcome.

Fritta says Hello.

I hope the man who has participated in 15 consecutive wins for us (still undefeated) is ok, as he clearly does a few things right.

Not like-for-like in my books. Fritter is a 3rd forward, not a KPF.

I do agree with this absolutely, but don’t think we’ll see Schache or JVR come in if Fritta returns this week. I think our best forward structure is 2 keys + Fritta but really don’t think they’ll do it.

Hopefully nothing too serious. whatever about his personal performance when he plays the team plays better.

What would be stopping them?  Surely they have trained in that tall role all preseason and if they are both fit, they will chose whoever is in the best form.

Surely Fritta (if he really is ready) replaces Pickett. Which means JVR might get his chance.

But the main hope is that it’s all a storm in a teacup. But foot injuries…. It makes me shudder. I think of Jack Viney who took years to get right, and then Jack Trengove and Aaron VDB who didn’t.

JVR come on down!

Doesn't sound like great news for TMac. He's struggled with his foot for years now, and at 30 years old it's not going to get any easier to manage or recover from when injured. Shame his last few years have been impacted by the foot as he was really hitting his stride as a good key forward.

He was key to structure up forward on the weekend and giving brown space, huge loss if out

I've long been a TMac fan but he must be close to cooked. If either Schache or JVR can't offer what he offered on Saturday night then why are they on the list.  Name one thing he did that the others couldn't do. Not to mention Fritsch will take Laurie's spot soon enough. If JVR hasn't built the tank as someone suggested then play Schache and see if at 25 the penny has finally dropped.

Tom says he’ll be there Friday night, just a regular check up after the game.

Channel 7 said it was a standard scan post off season surgery.

Channel 7 also said Viney and May more likely to return this week than Salem and Fritta.

Must have been the foot of a giant that stepped on Fritta... 6 weeks off for a stomped foot sounds like someone is lying.

Could be wrong but didn't someone on DL post it was Stafford.  If so that fits the 'foot of a giant' description😉.

Edit: @WalkingCivilWarhas just clarified it wasn't Stafford... see a few posts below.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
