Not the best of looks but I’d be [censored] if he gets time.
A rough conduct fine?

He’ll get a week or two and rightly so. He launched himself like an Exocet missile and is extremely lucky that he didn’t do some major damage to Smith. Intent should be punished and the intent there was pretty clear.

(I won’t be complaining however, if he gets off with a fine)

Cripps got off and won the Charlie last year.

Oh how the MRO interpretations turn so quickly.

Is he potentially in double trouble?

This pic is on the AFL website.

Errant but well timed. 😎

Hoping for a fine.

Incident occurred when we needed a lift so I’ve go no issue with his intention.

Thought he was immense tonight.

Didn't see Franklin's but I can see Pickett getting anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks especially with the current climate of concussion legal actions against the AFL. If he gets off it would be a miracle. Smith playing on helps the cause but the AFL won't like seeing hits like that replayed through the week and will want to send a message that we are serious on potential head injuries.

I think that was just captured at the right (wrong?) moment - seems it was just part of the push and shove but the pic makes it look like he flushed him on the jaw.

Yep

Watched the reply, was just grappling,  no punch thrown, not even a little jumpery one

Similar to Rioli on Rowell last year and he got off

Not really. Rioli argued he was contesting the ball. Pickett can’t argue that.

In the matrix it should be careless, low, high contact, which is a fine, but the Guidelines allow the MRO to lift the impact rating up where there is potential for harm and I expect that to occur here to raise it to medium, meaning a 1 week suspension.

But in the current climate I won’t be surprised if he gets high impact and/or intentional, to jack the suspension up further.

3 down to 2 with early plea, throw in another 1 for the hook shot on McCrae.

3 total, which he should accept imo. Reckless, but he was trying to change the momentum of the game, go hard or go home.

If he gets more than a week after what Cripps copped last year I'd be disgusted. Franklin threw an elbow. What will he cop. Cripps' opponent got wiped out, Smith got up like nothing happened. Smith has my respect. Tough guy not just a pretty face. Pickett deserves a week. Cripps should a got 3+. At least he got to enjoy the 2 worst feelings at the end of games i reckon he's ever felt playing Footy.

And the photo of the Cripps incident was so very like Kozzies bump. Feet well off the ground.  PLUS the other player was concussed. Interesting this one..

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
