...a top four Geelong team

What's your death, taxes and football certainty for this year?

Geelong will make the 8 for the 1000th time . A key Melb'ne player will get injured by a careless act down at  Mordor stadium late in the season.

The umpires will be just as hopeless as usual.

Caroline Wilson will predict a Tigers flag and will suck up to the new AFL  CEO.

Is this true, and if so exactly to which carparks do they apply this rule?

Kardinia Park is Crown Land run by a Trust appointed by the State. The rule will breach the Crown Land Reserves Act on disciminatory grounds.

Woudl love to see a bunfight over this if real.

Buns are $2 for Geelong members and $3 for anybody else.

No problem. Never been down to the cattery and never will.

Can't understand why supporters punish themselves going down there. Slim chance at best of winning.

That we play Geelong in the finals and they put the game at GMHBA to keep that whining tird Scott happy.

There's three certainties in life, death, taxes and...

  1. Triplechins being duplicitous
  2. a game being won/lost thanks to the intervention of poorly calibrated technology
  3. a game being won/lost thanks to the intervention of poorly trained umpires
  4. Bevo, Lyon, Simmo, Hardon, Scott, Scott, Clarko blaming a loss/poor season on everyone else except themselves
  5. The usual suspects milking free kicks at every turn
  6. Maysie flattening somebody/anybody then coming out and being BoG next game
  7. Goody and Richo holding a 45 min. pressa and telling us absolutely nothing
  8. Clayton winning the Bluey
  9. Max will hit the post from five yards out directly in front
  10. BT shuffling his ipod in the commentary box and asking Our Daisy to pick a tune.

What about the Great Geelong Flood of 2023, where the New ground got flooded out and destroyed

Oh, it’s real. Last year I went there and we were ushered to a parking spot whereat the attendant asked if we were Geelong members (despite being head to toe red n blue with flags n banners in the back seat). We said no and he said that’ll be $15. Curious, I asked him why he needed to know if we were Geelong members to which he replied, “it’s only $10 for Geelong members.” Walking towards the entrance I asked a few Geelong fans what they’d paid and they all said $10.

Fair enough. I’d pay more to leave Geelong than go there too!

I stopped going to that hellhole many years ago for the reasons you stated. But once you commit to the cheer squad you’ve just gotta suck it up.

Playing West Coast in Perth.

Every. Single. Year

Playing interstate in the final H&A round.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
