Conversely, if the media didn't go, is that because the club thought to tell the media but forgot to tell its own supporters? That's unforgivable and something for which the club should be held to account.

I’ve been to Gosch’s several times when training isn’t there. Mostly gambling on unadvertised sessions which is fine, you know the risks, but I think other times have been late changes too.

I’ve never once seen media there on the wrong day. Maybe they know to call the media manager to check, but one way or another they are always informed. It hurts that supporters aren’t given the same respect.

We came in from Adelaide on Monday to visit the Mrs family. I dragged my new brother in law along to training in the hopes of getting him to settle on the Dees as his team as he is new to Australia and doesn't barrack for anyone. Not really happy that a session that was advertised on the Dees website was moved without any warning. I hope we haven't lost a prospective supporter. The other inlaws will probably get their mits on him and bring him over to the Pies.

There is a good possibility that there was a bait and switch employed here.

Perhaps this was intentional so there wouldn't be any track watchers watching from behind the fence at Casey.

It's relatively simple to pull off. Advertise an Open Session at one venue, have the rubes turn up at that venue and then bait and switch so no interlopers at a tactical session.

Bloody genius move by the club. Not very nice to the fans but we all want to win a flag afterall.

Very disappointed today with the MFC. It's my first training session i've been able to get to in two years as I live in Wodonga. Only to find out that it had been moved to Casey. There was a lovely elderly lady sitting next to me who had never been to a Melbourne training session before with a broken leg and on crutches. The club need to realise the effort most supporters go to just to see a glimpse of the players and training up close. A social media post at 8.30am is easy enough to do so we can change our schedule. Lift your game MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB!

First training session I have been to and I may have been the second best footballer there (I was with dad who was a handy suburban ruckman in his day)! Seriously we were both disappointed not to see and photograph our beloved demons. Go Dee’s - we can win the flag this year!

Like others, I turned up at Goschs Paddock this morning. I had arranged to meet my son + his partner who are out from the UK for a few weeks. 

Very disappointing .... 

Only saving grace was having breakfast with my son + partner in Swan Street when we realised that training wasn't happening.

I felt particularly sorry for the couple + little boy who were there. The boy must have been very disappointed.

Collingwood looked fast, and the angles they run, very nice. Lots of repitions. Strong dependence on those wingers leading down the 50 meter line for the switch. Though all without a defender.

Down from Sydney for the week and was looking forward to repaying the DemonLand Track Watchers by writing my own report from Training. Us interstaters are so thankful for all the pre-season training reports that we get from DemonLand. Our press here knows only rugby and any skerrits of info on AFL is about the Swans.

Very disappointed that training was moved to another venue without warning. yeah yeah i know it says that that can happen but it would have been nice for a heads up. This wasn't a last minute decision to change venues. They would have notified all and sundry last night.

At least I got to experience 4 seasons in one day in Melbourne again.

It's still early in the year and a quite a few people travel around this time. I'm not surprised that there are so many who have been let down are on holiday here at the moment.

Locals will get over it once the season starts but for the visitors it could have been a highlight of their year so that really sucks.

Probably longer seeing the rugby boys had booked the oval.  I don't think the Club understand the effort many make to attend training.  Perhaps if someone from the Club got down there every now and again and chatted to the trackwatcher's they'd get a better idea.

I'm extremely disappointed for all Demonlanders who made the trip to Gosch's for nothing at all, and for the rest of us who thrive on the reports from our track-watchers.  Maybe the Club could repair some of the adverse PR generated by their poor form, by apologizing, and going to the effort of putting a meaningful training report from today's session on the Official site.

I escape the rugby heartland only to be treated to rugby training on our training oval.

Is it fair to say because admin/social media team are completely separated from the playing group that maybe there has been confusion to the point where even our own social media team didn't even know they had changed to Casey?

Aren't all ou admin team based out on the actual MCG precinct where as our playing is at Aami Park?

Just another boring reminder of the importance of having a home base where is based all in the one precinct.

I agree with you. Unadvertised sessions are at your own risk. Changes to advertised sessions should be updated on any and all communication channels including the website, social media and informing the office staff.
