They looked amazing against witches hats. As did we against North. As did Swans against West Coast. 

Gold Coast had a do not enter policy in the corridor today. It was one of the most putrid coaching display I’ve seen in a long time. Pies just waltzed the ball from end to end uncontested. It was a goddamn training run.

I do still think Collingwood are over hyped. If we're not playing like a top 4 side and we beat them, then what does that say about Collingwood?

Gold Coast on the back end of their fixture aren't great competition, but Collingwood did show really strong arousal today. No wonder they won.

You can't compare Gold Coast to North or West Coast. 

And you're downplaying Collingwood's football. Without De Goey, Mcstay and Sidebottom.

Because as I've said multiple times, bar maybe three sides at the moment, anyone can beat anyone. 

You keep shifting the goal posts haha. You're blaming Gold Coast's 'poor second half of the draw' history as opposed to giving credit to Collingwood smacking them up there by 78 points without three important players. If we had won that, you wouldn't stop banging on about how good the win was.

I'm totally optimistic about our list and the talent we have. I've just lost faith in Godwin's msg getting through given how inconsistent we've been since midway of last year.

We beat Collingwood without Oliver (the best contested player in the comp), Petty and Bowey (our premiership defenders). McStay is an ordinary footballer, but I'd give you Howe. So a week after beating Collingwood without our best player and with equal outs to Collingwood, you're saying we don't look like a top 4 prospect, so who's downplaying who here?

I'm not shifting the goal posts at all. If we'd beaten a clearly fatigued and ordinary Suns sides that had thrown in the towel, I would not be going on about how good the win is. This is the difference between you and I. I would be acknowledging that we got the job done, not how good we were. That's your approach to sides that aren't Melbourne. But as soon as Melbourne are involved you become hyper critical and seemingly unable to analyse what's happening, outside of our ball movement lacks dare and we don't play with the same arousal levels, and I wish we had supporters that attended (meanwhile I'm in Europe not attending). It's like a constant chip on your shoulder about us.

Nah, this is hedging in the extreme. My point has always been our ball movement (like everyone's) will improve at the back end of the season. However, unlike everyone else's, our ball movement earlier in the year was far more devastating. And it's why Collingwood mostly fell over the line against multiple opponents (St Kilda, Essendon, Adelaide and you could argue even Geelong who were down players but still managed 100 points against them), while we spanked teams.

So now when things turn you can say, oh, I always said Goodwin needed to encourage the players to play with more flair. 

I've previously acknowledged (multiple times) that I admire what McRae has been able to achieve with his team in a short amount of time, but I've always said it's highly vulnerable and less sophisticated than our defence first system.

One thing is for certain, we all want to see Freo lose every game from here on in.

Getting down to the business end of the season and with Melbourne causing much angst and stress on here with their recent performances, I have found some joy in following the demise of freo which has substantial impact on our draft hand.

This week they are playing at home up against Carlton who have won their past two matches (admittedly against Suns and Hawks).

A Carlton win will see Freo drop at least two spots on the ladder with the winner of Tigers vs Swans also surpassing the dockers on points.

Blues are a form/confidence team more than most.  They are a genuine chance against Freo.  I'm tipping them

Blues will make a big push for finals and end up missing out on %.  Should be fun to watch (again)

Freo need to go 6-2 to make finals.

Currently $7 to make the 8, at this point in the season it means there done if you go by this.

This. Every Carlton supporter already knows this. The team and the several stars in it will find form, remind everyone of how great they ought to be, and it will all come to nothing because they faffed about early in the season. It is destiny.

The only counter argument is that Fremantle are doomed to a near-identical fate!

The way we're currently travelling it won't be long before we're death riding our own picks.

Based on their recent form down at Geelong, I feel it would be more likely for them to beat the Cats. They could easily lose to Carlton and Sydney at home, if both of those teams find some form.

Big game today. I feel Swans and Blues are improving.. Hopefully they get above Freo by seasons end. Would love a top 5 pick.

Carlton are bang average, have struggled against good teams. Dockers should win pretty comfortably.

We definitely want Freo to lose. 
Carlton pose no threat to us. 

Never thought I’d see the day that I was looking forward to Carltank thumping a side…. But here we are.
