I hope Jackson appreciates how lucky he was to be involved at our club. He should ask Lever what it was like leaving Adelaide. Same same but different 🙄

Tom Sparrow

#SackGoodwin

The Demonland judges are so discerning: all year they've poo-pooed Sparrow and Spargo. Tonight is their comeuppance.

“Uncle” Greg Stafford. The bloke at the pub or BBQ gathering that loves to tell funny stories. Yes I’d hope he had a few bevvies because … well he’s no comedian !!  Just a query … is Stafford our “in need for dramatic improvement” forwards coach. My god, no wonder we kick to the deep forward pocket versus Cats/Swans/Magpies kicks to the hotspot on the top of the goalsquare. Hmmm.

Anyway, congrats Tom Sparrow.  Spargo and ANB equal coaches runners up award.

These endless breaks are killing me. I’ve just worked a 65 hour week. I cannot stay awake for this.

65 hours? On par with the band at the B&F!

You must be the most negative poster on demonland. Nothing is ever good.

Did you enjoy our premiership last year or not perfect enough?

Hahahah. Well, let’s clear the elephant in the room on that one…absolutely loved the Grand Final victory last year. Made a lifetime of supporting the Dees worth it…however, like many here, sitting on the couch in the middle of a 2 year lockdown was hardly how ai imagined it. It was very bitter sweet, if I’m being completely honest! I suppose this is why we were all so eager to see B2B.

I think the only negativity I’ve shown is in regards to list management. I do not believe the list is as complete as it needs to be, if we are to go back to the top of the mountain. 2021 was the result of superior and supreme fitness, our depth wasn’t really tested. If you stand still, you go nowhere. I’m very eager to see what the club has planned this trade period. I am hopeful it’s not like last year, where the only experience we added was Dunstan, who played almost the whole season in the ressies. I hope Grundy/Gawn work out and one can become a damaging forward of some sort.

Just wanted to ask people's opinions on who will win this year's Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy for 2022?

There's an article about it found here: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1229898

Personally, I think it will be either Clayton Oliver or Christian Petracca with Steven May as a dark horse to win it. I definitely think it will be pretty close this year!

My top 5 for the Demons Best & Fairest would be:

1) Clayton Oliver

2) Christian Petracca

3) Steven May

4) Max Gawn

5) Jack Viney

Anyway, please let me know who you think will be your top 5 in the Melbourne Demons Best & Fairest for 2022 ok?

The musical performers. They’ve been able to play a full 2 hour gig in the ‘short’ breaks.

So..

 Whats happening!?

My belief is we are in good shape. Whilst I understand your desire to add talent, I am a half full believer in Grundy. His best is way better than Jackson’s

we just need a big forward

Just spoke with Jayden. Not happy Jan. He didn’t want to go. Golf handicap down to 2.5.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
