As much as I dislike their coach Lord Farquaad.

They probably deserve it this year.

And just like that, geelong now become the hunted, everyone will dissect their game plan and will play their granny against them every week, they have the weight of expectation.

They might be able to handle it fine but I'm glad our boys can have somewhat of a break from the overwhelming expectation we had every week.

With a short pre season and an average list age of 98, I don’t know how they go back to back. But I never thought they would win it this year, so what do I know

I expect them to have an extremely tough draw in the 2nd half of the year.

Don’t hold your breath. 19 games in Geelong straight coming right up. Special nursing home concessions.

What a damp squib

Swans won't be a factor next year. Not after this shellacking.  I'm not convinced by the pies or Lions

It's us v the cats in 2023. I'm looking forward to it already

100% they will.

Up there with one of the dullest grand finals in history. AFL should be very disappointed with what was produced today. Geelong a good team, but not a great team. Melbourne 2021 would have monstered both teams today

Bulldogs didn't recover after we belted them.  The same will happen the Swans I reckon

Sydney are too disciplined and have too much good young academy talent.

And with a few minutes to go,  BT says Gil must be happy with the half time entertainment without a hint of irony.

No they won't.

Bloods culture?

You're kidding. First time I've left a gf at 3 quarter time. Franklin passed it

May unlocked the secret.

Dees will be better next year and at least provide a contest.

Why the lions job will be available in a couple of months. That's beats Essendrug.

🤮Watch the AFL hand them another DREAM run of home ganes vs mainly Duds re GC W.C GWS , NORF, ETC x twice

“It’s coming home, back where it belongs.” He stole that from Max Gawn (and Ben Gibson).

Clarry needs a stylist. No one of his complexion should be wearing that red.

That’s all you got from that? 😂 I love you THBT.

Should have been us in the granny. Better team than the Swans but just couldn't find a way to beat them, disappointingly.

And the loss to the Lions. Even more disappointing.

The offseason is all about improving the team and list, coming back hungry with a clean bill of health, refresh the game plan and we should be seriously challenging again

I switched off did Selwood say this the [censored] little twerp?

Isaac Norm is great. I dunno, it's good that Geelong fans can give Hawthorn fans cr*p ablut that. It's like the two things cancel each other out

Swannies were very very average. Also playing Sam Reid underdone and dropping Logan McDonald is a HUGE mistake.
We would’ve done far better than this, play four quarters in the game against Sydney and we would’ve, we blew it. On to next year. Cats another year older. Bring it.

A fit Melbourne the only team that could have got close to the Cats this year.

Makes me more confident that the Dees game plan still stacks up - will be interesting to see how the Pies and Swans play next year.

But Cats are the team to beat next year. They’re strong, fit and there’s no clear weaknesses across the ground.  We need to respond.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
