Just reported on 3AW that TMac has re-injured his foot.

I thought he hurt his knee last week not his foot

Trengove had the same injury and was never the same.

Unfortunately it might be the same for TMac

TMac’s injury is completed different to Trengove.  Trengove had a navicular injury, TMacs was a lisfranc

When they interviewed TMac last week at Casey he said that he got his boot stop caught in someone’s bootlace? It must have been worse than he thought.😪😢

He got caught up in a boot lace & twisted his knee which turned out to be fine. He got stomped on his foot in first quarter & if you watched the game …never took another mark. I would say that since he still has a metal plate in his foot ..there was probably bruising etc . Long shot to say he has re-injured his foot . No point playing him though …not worth the risk !

l reported he didnt look ready at training the other week,  and should have finished up and rested as soon as our afl season was out ... petty has to go forward now

Why is Bowey ineligible? Surely played 10+ VFL games this year

No.  I think he played 17 in the MFC and 5-6 at Casey.  Losing Tmcd and Bowey makes it a tight contest v Southport.  Bowey was outstanding last week and with a good preseason should be in MFC round 1 2023.

I have to check that out. There used to be a sports bar in Brisbane that had tanks with little sharks in them. Could watch them all day.

We have plenty of grounds in my part of Brisbane (northside) and junior teams are easy to find. My daughter played. Kids school was part of a school comp, although the standard was pretty low. We went all over the city to games so saw some good infrastructure. I couldn't comment on the Gold Coast though.

My friends and 14 year olds live southside of the City. A big kid keen as mustard has now moved on for lack of opportunites to play.

Ex-victorina who moved up there.

They aren't big sharks obviously.

Mis-management, and bordering on stupidity. Emblematic of our season.

That's really unfortunate.

If we had won last week Bowey could have played in the Grand Final. That's if he had not been picked to play Geelong.

Quiz of the week

We last played in a VFL grand final in 2018.

Is any player from that team still at MFC ?

Jayden Hunt Harry Petty and Bailey Fritsch played in that game. Fritsch was dropped from the Team that played The Eagles in the PF

Only Munro and White are playing in the game on Sunday.

add Grey to the both games list.

add Grey.

Hunt, Petty and Fritsch.  Also Munro and White were there.

Looking at the 2018 team list v tomorrow's, it looks a much stronger side in 2022.

Reading the Between the Flags book, looking at the Casey Team for this week I think it would go close "most likely beat" the  2013 MFC team.

Fritsch was of course drafted the following year which leaves only Hunt and Petty from that team. (Hunt at that time was an established player who had lost form as a running backman.)

It's certainly not a nursery for future talent

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
