2022 Finals Tickets

Ollie fan

Recommended Posts

Well I finally got my tickets! Will be in Bay M54.

Only took nearly 2 and a half hours due to computer problems. The timer on the Ticketek website for 10 minutes really wasn't for 10 minutes either!

Anyway, all sorted.

Looking forward to this massive game between the Melbourne Demons and the Sydney Swans in the Qualifying Final.

Great to have AFL finals football back at the MCG!

Hopefully, there will be a crowd of 80,000+ attending.

GO DEMONS!!!

Melbourne membership are blaming afl yet you ring the afl they claim it’s a Melbourne request

That is so sad to hear, I really feel for you and others in a similar predicament.  This fiasco rips the heart out of loyal fans.
I keep saying AFL is professional entertainment and money, not much else.

i believe all clubs have a responsibility to get together to work out a way forward in regard to how finals tickets are allocated. This problem will escalate even further as membership numbers keep increasing.

A no brainer for me would be one membership = one finals ticket.  That would reduce but not fix the problem.

Clubs should not  be able to ‘guarantee’ finals tickets unless they can actually do so.
No easy solution but this cyclical problem needs to be sorted.

My personal conspiracy theory is the AFL doesn’t give a flying duck.  They know the stands will be full no matter how big the finals ticket debacle each year is .  Their primary interest is purely on how many people watch the game on tv. Higher the rating the more money they can get for their product. Shame on the AFL.

You are 100% correct, TV ratings and payments is what drives the AFL the rest is lip service.

So I had a little experiment after I got my seats today. I purchased our tickets by using my Redleg barcode number and the below options came up. I then went back and used the 3 game membership barcode I had purchased for my Daughter during the home and away. I can confirm that the Premium option does not appear. I don't believe this was true back in 2018. So an improvement that recognizes those members. I can also confirm that Premium option offers different seating but you can still purchase standard seats if you prefer. I would surmise that the barcodes will be linked to the GF guarantee when we get to that stage.

I got my MCC tickets at 9:06am. All level 1+2 were gone already, but got right at the front of level 4. Not the worst result and just happy I'll be watching us play finals at the G again. It's been years and those 2018 ones were awesome fun with 90,000+ fans going nuts!

Same ...  Level 4 ... Row C. I'm happy with that. See you there !!!

Hi Tez, I don't really understand why. I just jumped on  and there are  7 bays on level 1 that have available seats and 2 bays on 2A. Can I ask what kind of Membership you hold?

Choose the Sydney member allocation, there are still plenty left. You can get more than 5 in a row last time I checked on level 2.

They did the same in Adelaide for the Qualifying final and Perth for the Prelim 10 tickets per 1 membership code.

Shocking for the paid up members, the club want as many people as possible but bend the paid up members over a barrel in the process.

Just trying to learn for the next game.

I tried to get 3rd tier seats that were located in the northern stand (Q59 -Q53) - which would have given me seats close to the front on the top stand (I like the ‘tv’ view).  I got allocated seats on the ground level at the Punt Rd end (M4) - which also is categorised as ‘3rd tier’

When choosing seats is there a way you can direct  (or redirect from what you are allocated) to the part of the ground where you actually want to sit, or is it the luck of the draw?

That was fine when MFC members were locked out of SA and WA due to covid.

Presumably the non-member extras would still buy tickets at 2.00pm in the General Allocation rather than be allowed tickets in the 10.00 am slot advertised as 'Member Pre-Sale', so it shouldn't affect attendances.

Maybe they should do what Collingwood did and have the 10.00 time for P1 members then 10.30 for other members.  General Allocation later in the day

What we have is just not fair.

For the 2000 GF all I wanted was 9 Southern Stand standing room tickets. I had my 9 memberships.

My only option was to buy 9 seats in the Posford. The Southern Stand was not available as we were the away team.

Furthermore the AFL refused ro sell standing room until all seats were sold.

I phoned the MFC and told them I was happy to swap my (good) seats for standing room tickets. They said they were too busy (understandable).

I guess I wasn't on Demonland then.

I"m hoping that has changed so that you can buy standing room, even if you are a Premium member. Today I bought Category 7 - restricted view and standing room.

If we do get to the big dance I may well have 9 seats up for exchange.

ATM I have one (see earlier post)

Click on the available bay that you are interested in and you will be presented with seats in that area equal to how many seats you request (where possible). Ticketmaster gives you a seating map of each bay. Ticketek does not, you just get what you're given. If you want better seats in the same area you have to start again and see what comes up. Unfortunately the more you do this the more seats are locked for a period of time. What can I say it's a shizen system.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
