Not adjudicated consistently for both teams, and line frees given infront of the goal.

Seems like if it pops out when tackled it becomes HTB.

A split second, or minimal movement isn't prior.

Prior has to be enough time to dispose of the ball, not attempt to dispose of ball.

The attempt to dispose comes after the tackle, when no prior.

The taller, lankier, slower players are being discriminated against as ball getters.

Lifting the eyes shouldn't be judged as prior.

Can't all be Clarry, who is super quick.

Again, prior must be enough time to get a correct disposal away, a reasonable amount of time.

I don't like the getting pinged when unable to dispose, due to tackler holding an arm so cannot handball, and pushing down on the body so can't get the leg out for a kick.

We don't seem to get much reward for our tackling.

The coaches would be furious we got into another shootout instead of slowing the game down and controlling it. It’s a failure on their part that they weren’t able to get the players to do that. I was sitting near the bench, and last night is the most animated and angry I can remember seeing Goodwin.

Yes but our defense starts with forward 50 pressure which was missing. No pressure up the ground makes an impossible task for our defenders.

Yep the only one I was filthy on was the Jordon one, no prior and ball spilled free. Cameron was paid a mark which looked like it hit the ground.

The rest of the frees were there problem was we didn't get them paid our way 😡

Even though we lost I came away with a smile on face because it was a thoughtfully enjoyable game.  Sometimes you have to put aside your disappointment and for some people, their anger, and just say "Well done to both teams"

It was a good game. I'm filthy. We should've belted them.

Only a win against them in September will cleanse the palate.

Woke up with a bitter taste in my mouth. Absolutely filthy about last night. All this talk from Gawn and co how they want to get one back on Collingwood but each time they fail. The 2020 win against them doesn’t count. It was completely off broadway in a season where no one really cared. The pies players and supporters know they have the wood over us and they love it. Even if we didn’t win the flag this year, if we can knock them off in a final at the G and wipe the smile off that dog Maynard and Howe with his [censored] eating grin I’d be happy. 

Anyway, I found this on twitter which basically sums up the second half and the game. They turned up the heat in the second half and we wilted. That tackle count is woeful for us.

Melksham was obviously playing a defensive role on Moore and it didn't work. Moore was far too big/good for him and when Melksham had a couple of opportunities he didn't make them pay.

I'm coming round to one of Spargo or ANB having to go back to Casey. I love what they bring when they are on but if they're not defending/pressuring inside our forward 50 or hitting the scoreboard they're not offering enough. Kozzie can't be dropped because he is a potential matchwinner, ANB and Spargo are not.

Cant drop both. Chandler deserves a full game. Bedford has good cameos but goes missing for long periods during games.  Doesn’t do enough to usurp one of those two ATM.

We had zero bounces to 8 last night and our defenders struggled in ground balls.

I'd bring Bowey in for Hunt, because Jake is incredibly clean below his feet, takes the game on and is a beautiful kick. We needed more run off half back last night.

The other stat that is telling is they were 10+ for tackles inside 50 (18 to 8), of which I think Elliott kicked all 4 of his goals from.

I wouldn't be surprised if 6 or 7 of those tackles inside 50 came in the first quarter or so for us, which shows how easily Collingwood were allowed to exit the ball from our A50.

I haven't been a fan over the journey, but it's likely they'll bring Joel Smith in at the expense of Melksham. Smith with play defensive forward and he's actually got some good attributes to play that role. He can bring the ball to ground, cover the ground quickly (apply forward 50 pressure) and can kick a goal.

So it's Bowey and Smith in for Melksham and Hunt. Kozzy, Spargo and ANB need to get the job done for four quarters inside 50.

We probably missed Harmes' tackling pressure too, so who goes out for Harmes?

That was a rubbish loss. I’m a long way from convinced about us now, and I was such a believer going in.

I don’t mind being beaten, it’s being beaten the same way that kills me. Last half fade outs when the game should be wrapped up. Our fitness department haven’t got it right at all this year. We have nothing to give late in games. Not once have we risen to a challenge in the second half of a game.

We are the one trick pony, been saying all year we are predictable, boring and take no risks.

We are playing like 2019 and 20 high inside 50m counts but no real pressure to keep it in there.

Kosie needs to be front and square not behind looking for the easy over the top goal.

You can't keep playing a ruck as tall forward option especially one that can't kick and the other that doesn't take any f50 marks.

Just watched Goody's press conference. Although he looked calm, focused and composed, it felt like he was barely holding his rage in check. I reckon he is filthy about that game, even if he is the master designer of the game plan.

He was also VERY clear on his belief that our personnel and method are doing lots right and he has full faith. I might not always agree with him, but I love his positive team belief and doggedness.
