Gawn is playing hurt and it’s honestly going to cost us in finals if he’s still not right.

Big second half coming up here, are we up for the fight and potential shoot out? We'll see. Come on Dees!

They have 2 days more break. That is worrying.

Mmmm fitness?

I guess we'll find out this quarter.

We need to tighten up on those umps, they're running riot

Milk will sort em out.

Umpires did all they could that quarter but the boys stood up. That knee in the ribs hurt Max. Jacko to play most of this quarter in the ruck.

This game is not looking good for us. Yes we are in front but we are incredibly efficient in f50 which is weird and unusual for us.  Dogs owned us in that Quarter.

We need to tighten up defensively. We need to kick at least 2-3 goals to win this game. Dogs will come really hard this quarter.

Play him forward for the high long ball. Need a big effort from the skipper

may has to stop kicking the ball out to Max when English is there with him, he gets pushed out of the contest and english has longer reach, go around, find another avenue to move the ball on. we have so many returns to our kick ins because of the same thing. good finish to the quarter, but frankly they ran over us in that quarter thankfully they were kicking astray. we need to finish them off asap.

Choccy milk in the huddle?

Long 30 mins to go, feel there's still a lot of goals left in this one.

Hopefully the warmer NT game and shorter break doesn’t hurt us in the fourth….!!??? 😬😬😳

Inside 50

-- M 36  -> 21 shots

- WB 46 -> 18 shots

Defensive pressure holding us in.

Thought our defence held up pretty strong considering how much it went in there forward line.

We just need to get back to what we did right to get to 27 points up.

Come on Melbourne. We cannot drop this game.

Please keep their score under 100, don't want the streak to end!

Melksham could've given one off to Kozzie instead of snapping from 40

But I bet nobody starts a 10 page discussion about how selfish he is.

No signs of Gawny being hurt, he’s just getting beaten. Not sure where Dogga went that quarter??? Gotta even up at the contests or start winning, or they’ll just wear us down.

Actually think he’s been great until that huge knee on the back in the 3rd.

Which means there’ll be loads of chances on the counter.

    The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

    The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
