If we had no ruckman probably Macca, that’s the situation the Swans find themselves in. It will get done eventually.

Yeah but they are playing hard ball and we probably won't get what we want

Well Sydney don't rank him too highly as they've only offered pick 46

The question is ... do Sydney want him that badly?

Oh I think they want him badly it’s that they now find they are having trouble getting him and the pies vice captain.

If you want someone that badly do you offer pick 46?

They know we want to offload

Not sure who is playing the hardest Macca, time will tell.

I would have played Grundy at the tailend of the season but if he had an early 'exit' meeting then that might explain why Schache was preferred (in a final?)

Grundy is a miles better player than Schache but we've inadvertently devalued Grundy by ruling a line through him

We showed our hand and that's why the opening gambit was pick 46 (in my view)

If they think that they are wrong. Grundy will either stay on our list or find a club that offers us a suitable pick in the 20s-30s.

It’s Grundy who wants to leave, his manager started doing the rounds and making noises the instant we made him play in the 2s. My understanding is that the club was genuine, we wanted him to do some work on his forward craft and defensive application at VFL level and as soon as that happened Brodie made noises to the media about how we had “misled him” and his manager starting shopping him around.
Part of him not playing against Carlton in the final was because he went to Sydney for an interview that week rather than attend the club, which showed where his head was at. We owe him nothing and if clubs don’t give us what we want he will stay on the list as backup. There’s no bluff here.

Time will tell but the salary is relevant as it's for another 4 years ... so close enough to $3Million.  It's a big commitment for Sydney and we won't be wanting to be paying a percentage of Brodie's salary as the Pies are

My view is we'll get a pick somewhere in the 30's and that will be the end of it

Hopefully so.

And what are we worried about anyway?

Our guru recruiter (Taylor) turns picks in the 30's into Gold (Fritsch, BBB, Rivers et al)

Let's not sweat the small stuff

I like the suggestion from a poster that we parade Max in a moon boot in a photo.

Then come out and say if other clubs want to discuss Brody we will listen.

Cats have 7, need a ruckman and spoke to Brody. We could have a go at that with a pick swap.

Still think both sides know what the deal is and this could be posturing for the fans.

And Adelaide don't rate Petty based on their offer...

Past pick 15-20 it's more about the recruitment team rather than the draft pick number ... and often picks are overvalued or undervalued

No way should Melb buckle and take 46. Make a play for 25 if no cigar then settle for 33. Swans pay all his salary 650K.That works well for both clubs.

Stupid Essendon got stitched up by Norff's McKay for around 800k x 5 years?  Clowns.

25 will likely jump to early 30s which is fair. Get it done lads

Sydney holding us to ransom on Grundy reminds me we were way way too generous to the Pies last year.

They could afford to keep him and we buckled and gave them a nice pick.

Would be a lot easier to cop a late 30’s pick for Grundy if that was all we gave up to begin with.

Got North's pick back so hopefully we are in discussions about this

North's pick was only 44, so I hope we aren't discussing accepting that pick.  Unless we are talking about the End of First from north for next year, because that would be the only acceptable option there.

They will need two 2nd round picks, so maybe something like:

Grundy and pick 27 to swans for Roos future 2nd round + pick 46

I'd do that personally

Future 1st you mean? Roos didn't trade their future 2nd round.

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention.
