It was not Shache.

If we don't land the KPF we have been targeting I will let DL know at 8:30pm who it is.  If we don't get him this year I am certain we will try again next year.  He has been on our radar since he was a junior even touring the club as a16yo. We were to take him in our next pick in his draft year but were beaten to him.

The club see this player and JVR as the perfect two pronged KPF future.

Of course! Don't tell us now. Tell us at 8:30 because it's going to make all the difference!

If you tell me now I might spill the beans and then the deal is off!

😂

Do you know what the hold up is? Convincing the player, or satisfying the player's club on a trade?

Yes he’s got to review what other posters put up and is said on SEN & Trade Radio

Don’t expect a name, just a few more details rather than the current “the sun will come up tomorrow” prediction. Otherwise, there is no point saying anything at all.

Agree with you & in no way by that does it mean I’m giving it to GNF.

But I can sit here & say we have spoken to a player from a rival club & we just need to work through things. It means nothing & has 0 credibility if everyone just says they know something but give no details. It’s basically what all the journos do every day. It also means of the deal doesn’t happen they can claim anything they want as there is never any accountability or proof either way.

I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere. But the Age is reporting pick 4 from Essendon is on the table:

5.52pm Dons’ pick 4 on the table

With just under two hours remaining before the trade deadline, Essendon football boss Josh Mahoney has told AFL Trade Radio that the Bombers would be open to trading pick No.4 if the right deal came about.

No problem.

Draft picks can be swapped right up until just before the draft.  Then again on during the draft.

This time last week, some posters were whining about our lack of action on the trading front.

It happens every year.  There is next to no movement for the first few days then a big rush at the end with deals being made left, right and centre.

Moral of the story?  Be patient during the trade period and don't expect things to happen early on.

As it turns out, we've been one of the more active participants this year.

I would be surprised.  Eagles couldn't prise him out of Port as part of the Rioli deal and Georgiades is from WA.

I should clarify, I don't think this will happen. But I'm 99% sure Georgiades is the player GNF is referring to as per their recent posts over the past 2 weeks.

Would a West Aussie train with us at 16 or a Victorian from the Calder Canons?

I have to admit. I'm really excited to wait till 8:30 for GNF to tell us who the tall forward that we didn't get is.

Well done to everyone involved for keeping it so under wraps that nobody in the media or even the clubs involved even spoke about it.

In: Brodie Grundy, Hunter, Schache, Pick 13, Pick 37, Future First and Second tied to Freo.

Out: Jackson, Bedford, Weideman, Hunt, 33 and some picks we wouldn’t use this year and next.

All in all it’s pretty bloody good, we got a ruckman (still need one or two for depth but better than none), we got an outside mid/wing, we got key position depth. We lost two players we didn’t want to, but ultimately we’ve made the best of a challenging situation and ended up with two picks we may upgrade that will net us good talent. Tick.

Can anyone tell me what Future 2nd tied to Freo means? If I am right it means that the pick is dependent on Freo's finishing position. Why would the Future 1st they traded to us be different...or is it the same?

I just thought tied to Freo meant their original pick

2024 Player Reviews: #18 Jake Melksham

After sustaining a torn ACL in the final match of the 2023 season Jake added a bit to the attack late in the 2024 season upon his return. He has re-signed on to the Demons for 1 more season in 2025. Date of Birth: 12 August 1991 Height: 186cm Games MFC 2024: 8 Career Total: 229 Goals MFC 2024: 8 Career Total: 188

2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence. 2024 Player Reviews: #42 Daniel Turner

The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury.
