  1. Yeah I still don’t agree. He played because our depth was poor in his position & they were blind by the myth that’s called speed. Not a very smart footballer & constantly ran himself into stupid positions & then burnt the ball. I don’t think we made an offer to keep him either.
  2. Weid/Hunt/Bedford not good enough to make the team & not AFL standard players, so vastly different. The only player leaving is a young kid heading home unlike the Dogs who have multiple best 22 players wanting out.
  3. Agree with you & in no way by that does it mean I’m giving it to GNF. But I can sit here & say we have spoken to a player from a rival club & we just need to work through things. It means nothing & has 0 credibility if everyone just says they know something but give no details. It’s basically what all the journos do every day. It also means of the deal doesn’t happen they can claim anything they want as there is never any accountability or proof either way.
  4. Yeah look he hasn’t set the world on fire & just like Weid loads of potential but simply not hard enough at the ball & a bit scared of physical contact. But maybe this is being Weid driven? He may want the change, need the new environment & he has 1 year left for us which if he stinks it up again like he has every other season will mean the end of his AFL career.Dons may have offered a multi year deal which even if he still stinks means he has a few more $ for a few extra years . Also unlike Freo we are not a club to stop a player from another option.
  5. How so. All players have a right to talk to other clubs, but they have no obligation to tell their current employer. That’s just a fact & a part of business. Some may mention they want to leave, but others won’t just as they know they won’t be told they’re not required until an exit interview. Not sure how that’s hard to comprehend.
  6. His mum made his choice. She’s done all the yapping, her pet dog has said nothing.
  7. With you on that, I think he’s already been dealing with the SA clubs & will finish his contract & be home.
  8. Nope & they have no right to know. They will know when I hand in my resignation letter just like LJ did. I mean there would be that many players/managers already talking to other clubs for 2024 already when they’re out of contract, it’s life & it’s a business.
  9. Close, I’m about 1100km from Snowtown. In saying that I played some of my footy for the Blyth-Snowtown Cats. Good times when that happened, it was certainly a good party started & topic around the BBQ with a few beers.
  10. Cmon no one has any right to stop someone from looking for another employment opportunity. I’m employed, but I talk to other employers all the time about job opportunities that will benefit me. They have a right to look after their future & if you ban the player, then their manager will do it, a family member etc will do it.
  11. More than any AFL club. AFL clubs rarely lose a top 10 player in the comp, let alone year after year. Imagine the Dees losing May this year along with Gawn, ,Salem, Lever & then Oliver next year, Petracca the year after etc. They turn over a dozen players a year. But that’s the benefit of No draft, no trading & no sticking to contacts. Clubs rarely hold players to a contract, even 1 year into a 4 year deal as it’s not worth keeping a player that wants out.
  12. Why not also live your own life & make your own choices like all adults should. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t love your family or friends, but jeez you don’t need to live near them or even in the same state as them. I love my parents, but I have my own life, live in another state, as do my brothers & my own son lives in another state to me.
  13. Yep culture is massive & I think Kozzie goes next year, it can’t just be a coincidence about his rumours. On Munster though the NRL are different when it comes to the cap & he will get money outside of the cap which all clubs have the ability to do. Loads of clubs pay players extra money outside of the cap. The other thing that non NRL followers don’t understand ( same as the bottom, desperate clubs) is that they think they can just offer more money, but in fact an extra $100k a year for someone like Munster to leave would of meant he probably earns less than what he would staying at the Storm (sounds backwards, but isn’t). If you play Origin you get $30k per game so play all 3 & that’s an extra $90k a year.Playing in the World cup he will get $20k per game & we will win it so that’s 6 games, so an additional $120k, plus the $50k bonus for winning. Munster would get $260k for those extra games, plus trip overseas, the free everything & benefits that go with it. Big difference between players in top 8 teams making Origin & World Cup squads, so you may get higher base wage at a lower team, but few players from low teams make rep squads, so they lose financially in the long run.
  14. Clearly lack knowledge of Sydney & what is classed as Greater Western Sydney. Some of the best places around & covers Blue Mountains, Camden & nearly down to Wollongong. Yep areas like Blacktown, Penrith are garbage but at least there are mountains & a river you can swim in unlike Melbourne that’s flat, desolate & has a waterway as filthy as the sewage infested Ganges.
  15. Well you don’t need to live in the made up area of GWS to play for them. Sydney is a big place & far better than Perth could ever be, what a [censored] WA is. I mean it’s not like the NRL players who change clubs regularly move to whatever area their club is based in. Besides just up the road from their home is the Blue Mountains or areas like Dural, Hawkesbury which have some of the most prestigious & highest priced homes in the country.
  16. Why? They did what they should do, get a player they want for as little as possible. I say death ride the sook that needed his mummy. Hope he crashes & burns & that he has an unsuccessful career from now on. He knew he was gone last year & clearly played like he had checked out.
  17. Has his mummy also demanded he come home even though he’s an adult?
  18. Not sure how anyone fails to comprehend that a club doesn’t have to give anything another wants when there is no competition for an in contracted player. They also can’t give up something they don’t have. If I was Freo I would of said take 13 or stick it up your [censored] Dees. People fail to forget other clubs are enemies & don’t want to help another genuine threat in any way. We knew he was going last year so should have traded him then (he would have gone) while Freo would have offered us more.
  19. Why would he care? Its a benefit to him to weaken a competitor & if he wanted what’s best for the club he would have either signed an extension, or informed the club last year when he knew he was running home. That way we could have driven the whole thing & received Cerra last year, or better than what we will get now.
  20. I have, as would most people. But I’ve never had my mummy call the shots & make my adult decisions for me. What pathetic grown man can’t live just a several hour plane flight away from their parents. Christ people earning $50k a year live in different states & clearly manage.
  21. To be fair they’re a smart club. Easy to do & if you get caught it proves how dumb you are & how poorly run the club is. No way anyone can prove cash in the hand, gifts etc from wealthy members, sponsors or supporters. It’s rife in the NRL to the point of sponsors donating units/houses or taking a loss on a sale of a property to players & nothing illegal about that. The house may cost say $800k to build & they will sell it for a mill to general public but do a sale for $600k to a player. They haven’t paid the player any more, but the player has cashed in on another property & got an increase on assets. Same as clubs giving players vehicles & saying they are got their use whenever they want. Player gets a car with no expenses so not getting paid any more, but receiving a benefit by reducing costs. It happens in all sports.
  22. Would have been mummy. Jackson doesn’t have a set & wouldn’t be able to speak his own mind.
  23. But the thing is they still do get money. It’s a risk but comes down to age. If you’re late 20s early 30s then they can go to a club that they not want to, get fat & lazy, have lower level intensity & sit in the magoos for their contracted time & still get a full wage. No performance clauses so if a club like Eagles take him he can just stink it up on a full wage. This is why clubs that know they’re not the preferred club don’t chase even though they may have 1st pick in the PSD. They still have to play but get nothing in return. It’s only if a player is younger & has more years as they won’t want to risk ruining their career & missing a chance to move where they want at end if their contract via a trade.
  24. Oh I feel for North & I don’t agree with what he’s doing but the world is getting softer by the day & this is what the current generation is like. I think mummies boys that need to go home do mum can tuck them in like Jackson are pathetic. Hate to go to war with these blokes. But it’s the modern reality & it happens in other codes where they know they can’t force players to perform at a place they don’t want to be at.
  25. What benefit is it to the club in keeping him? The bloke refuses to train or play, still gets paid & then leaves at end of next year anyway. It happens in other sporting codes where blokes that don’t want to be there just disrupt the club, cause trouble & that hurts the club more. Take a trade now & get 2 good picks for him & get rid of the cancer. New coach & time to start fresh in their rebuild.
