All we'd be looking for in return is Georgiades. Was thinking the same thing. They'll need to lose a player in order to satisfy North. Ironic that Adelaide offered North a bounty last year for Pick 1, so they could get JHF. 1 Quote
The heart beats true 18,201 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 North treated him poorly. I honestly don’t blame him. He’s been there less than a year and he’s looking at not knowing who his coach is. They know he’s going so they are going to try and get max value this year. 2 Quote
Jaded No More 68,976 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Absolutely [censored] poor. These kids all want to be pick one but play for successful club. Well that’s not how the system works. Where is the resilience? This guy won’t make it unless he grows up. 4 1 Quote

He was arguing with senior players on the field. He breached team rules and buggered off home without telling them. They invested pick one in him and he’s shown not an ounce of respect for them. Yes they are a hot mess. Guess what, so are 99% of clubs who hold pick one each year. 8 Quote

BDA 23,048 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 North having a torrid time of it. Plenty of it self inflicted but losing the no 1 pick after 1 year is rough. head coach situation in limbo. I feel for them. They may be an even bigger basket case than we were back in the dark days. 3 Quote

Garbo 1,567 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 (edited) Got to feel gutted for north, as much as they annoyed me on field over the years they don’t deserve this. With us loosing Jackson and them Francis, and us maybe Pickett next year you have to seriously wonder why you would bother risking top picks on SA and WA players going forward. Jackson couldn’t have asked for a better culture than what he had in his time, Understudy to Gawn, Grand final, rising star. What more could u ask for. Edited October 2, 2022 by Garbo 2 Quote

The Lobster Effect 899 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 1 hour ago, whatwhat say what said: be interesting to see how the pear could get it done Port will offer pick 8 and next year's future first. Maybe a late pick coming back from North. They can't trade their pick 27 this year as that'll go to the Eagles for Rioli. Either way if things go belly up with Hinkley next year then it's a lot off eggs in the JHF basket. Quote

Welcome to the big league of managing humans, with all their emotions, that are also incredibly valuable assets. They got it wrong. 3 Quote
grazman 7,539 Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 His step dad is former Port Adelaide player Fabian Francis (also a former Melbourne U19 player I think). I think with everything that is going on at North with Clarkson it is potentially going to end in a bunfight if North dig their heels in and refuse to trade him. Having said that I don't think pick 8 and a future first round pick from a side that played in a prelim final 12 months ago is enough for last year's #1 pick... which is why I think they'll need to trade a player out like Georgiades. 2 Quote

North very much may look at trading pick 8 if the accept it. Makes more sense for them than Port in some ways. They’ll have pick 2 for an elite talent to replace JHF, they can slide 8 back for a pair of good picks including banking another future pick. Giving they’re getting Logue and Tucker this year they won’t want to bring in too many kids, especially if Clarko’s on a years ban. They probably need to replace some recruiting staff too, having too many high picks this year isn’t a good idea for them. 2 Quote

North lost 3 recruiter's mid year who were average anyway, and they have pick 1, possibly 8 and a few players to bring in from other clubs. With Clarko out of the picture, they are a real chance to [censored] this up Going to be a very, very eventful trade period. Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb, please weave your wonderful magic! So many things happen at footy clubs that nobody ever hears. North put it on the record, and exposed him publicly - while also spending a lot of the year not managing him properly and playing him when it only benefited the club. They misread the player and the situation, and nobody is left there to be held accountable. That’s why I don’t blame him for getting out. People will waffle on about money and him being a spoiled brat, but if your employer publicly hung you out to dry while also continually proving to be incapable most would be out the door ASAP. 1 Quote
