Second week in a row I feel dirty after a game and need a shower.

Yeah but this time it’s Essendon so the shower needs to be twice as long and the temperature just short of scalding. And we should  burn the clothes we’re wearing for good measure.

Now they are out of finals contention, I don't mind Essendon won today. It helped keep Brisbane off our tails.

Also makes Thursday night for annoying because we could have been 2 games clear of Brisbane to

A great result.  Excellent work Bombers.  That will help us though only if we don't drop the next couple of games.  Must win the ones we are expected to and at least break 50-50 in the rest.  4 out of 6 will see us top 4.

We need to not lose a game for a while. Watching these games and hoping for certain results stinks.

Not sure I'm so happy about the Lions losing as it is easier for Sydney to make top 4 as they have at least 4 very winnable games coming up.  Other than Geelong it is, on paper, the easiest run home.

I would rather play Lions in the QF than Sydney.

Our win against Brisbane has not aged well

Not a fan of having losses to no 1,3, 5 and 6 either

Agree that whilst is hasn’t aged well, our defensive intent that night would’ve beaten every club.

Any danger Collingwood can lose a game anytime soon? At this rate they’re going to make the grand final. They just simply find a way to win regardless of whether the opposition is excellent or poor.

I’ll be happy just to make the final 4 first Luci, give our form and our draw

And hopefully playing a home final.

Sort of why I never bought into us being 'back' 100%

West Coast have been pathetic so far

woeful. Almost quarter time and zero inside 50.

edit: soz, that was their second inside 50. Barely though, blink and it’s back out again. Scoreless, too.
There is a positive though: they have a player named Rhett Bazzo. That’s some name right there.

You know a match is boring when you find amusement in players’ names. 😆

I'm very confident.  Lots and lots of 8-pt games among top 9 teams to come.  And quite a few of top 8 games with teams that want to make a mark.

We have a game and large % on 5th.  The % is almost worth another game.  Short of the wheels falling off and we win our fair share we are top 4.

Still a good chance for top 2, I reckon...

I know I’m supposed to be barracking for Essendon but I can’t. I tried but I just cannot do it. How would I sleep at night?

Warm in the belief that the Dons have given us a better chance of securing a better ladder position WCW.

Now put ur Electric Blanket on, reread our Premiership Literature, AND....... Dont forget the nightcap WCW!!😇

It’s only 6pm. I’m not 90 years old.

HQ want everything decided in Round 23.

Still sticking with the "It's all rigged" narrative then, Clint?

Not rigged, but at least an element of manipulation

Great player Josh Kennedy

Have always admired and respected him. Love the way he goes about his footy. Ever humble and a perfect role-model for kids (and adults as well).

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
