Does anyone know what driving to Kardinia for a game is like? Trying to decide if I should train it or drive it. I live west side so would get on the train at Footscray.

Get the train to south Geelong, go to the pub, Barwon Club or sawyers Arms… maybe grab a burger at Kardinia Cafe for a ‘cultural’ experience.

celebrate the win long and hard, fall asleep in someone’s flowerbed  👍

I get the impression parking is an issue, id get the train to South Geelong.

If anyone wants to pass on a spare ticket... living a few blocks away from the ground in enemy territoy but couldn't get a ticket.

I might ride around on the bike, MCF flag unfurled...

We play the game, the way Maxy wants us to play

Worried about a match up of de Koning on Brown, lucky Stewart out but can’t see Brown matching DK in the air

Will be a challenge for DK to hold up their backline without Steward. Perhaps a key part of Brown's role tonight might then need to take DK away from the play and being a decoy. Dees play the game through Fritsch and other forwards.

Brown is good on the lead, not when they dump it on his head.

I really really pray that the umpires don’t feature in this game. I can take a loss but not another +3 goal advantage due to soft frees or 50/50 calls in the f50. Hawkins will no doubt flop for a few so let’s hope the umpires are not influenced by the feral crowd.

It should be a good contest but I don’t think we can read too much into the result given the time of year and obvious disparity of the grounds dimensions and how that will effect a teams game plan and ball movement.

if umpired well and fairly, Dees by 6 goals.

Wouldn’t worry much about that, Brown hasn’t matched anyone in the the air this year & we’re doing alright

I was gonna PT it there but am now in the city, gonna catch a ride with a friend, meeting her at Parliament station. I’m with another friend whom I just ran into (Geelong supporter) and neither of us has been up the posh end of the city in decades. So we’re like MaryLou and Billy Bob Joe visiting the big smoke for the day. He’s had several ppl call out “go cats!” and “carna catters!!” etc. All’s I’ve got is a very distinguished elderly gentleman stepping out of the Yves St Laurent shop as we passed, and he says, “well, as long as it’s not a resounding defeat, I believe a loss this evening wouldn’t be the end of the world.” 😂

Is that watch afl app any good ? $20 for a week sub. Don't mind the fee but is it any good?

Depends what you're looking for chook! Good food. Bloody hot weather. Plenty of bars to avoid dehydration . much more breathable air than BK. It's right on the beach.

Any other details ... best pm me chook.

I cast every game onto the tv in Phuket, I reckon it's great. Might depend on how good your internet is though.

I've paid the $20 as a back up. I'm currently having a pre game drink in the Sports Bar and mamasan assures me "all good for you"!

That is the way I watch week in, week out. It is a good coverage and would be worth the 20 bucks.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
