Pickett gets a week I feel. Tribunal haven’t cared about tummy taps, till it’s a Dees player.

MFCVM.

Pretty easy selection I'd say. The only problem might be Pickett

Out: B.Brown, M.Brown
In: Gawn, Jackson

Gawn to play predominantly forward.

Do we know if Jackson will be available next week?
Pickett could get a week.

Gawn and Jackson in. Out B. Brown and M. Brown

If Pickett gets a week for that it will be an extension of the pathetic umpiring display. Maybe a fine at worst.

Out Ben Brown to soft.

In Tomlinson

Thought M Brown was less poor than Ben Brown.
In: Gawn Jackson

Out:  Weid,  maybe Ben Brown?

In: Gawn, Jackson

Out: M. Brown, Weed

Weed battled hard today, but I would need to see him take some more one grab marks before he wins me back. BBB wasn’t great in that regard either but he stays in for mine for his ability to cause spillage.

Can we talk about Ben Brown? I honestly thought he would kick 60 this year. Best team in the comp, playing against a poor team and he can’t dominate?

doesn’t do much else as far as assists or general play. No one to come in but my word he needs to fire up. How did he regularly kick 60 for north? He looks like a ruck trying to play fwd at gre moment. Can’t even kick straight anymore

Not sure how or why you'd think he would kick 60 this year, he's no where near a 60-a-year goal kicker in years and MFC under Goodwin has NOT played a game style that suits his style of forward craft.

Goodwin said Gawn is a definite. Did a full match load of training today. The guy is a freak.

If BB gets dropped he can have no complaints. Unless he's hit up on the lead he has zero impact. He's a more reliable kick for goal than the Weid and M Brown which is probably the reason he'll stay in

I guess coz he has done it 3 times in a poor team and now inside 50s are double and although styles are different, not an unreasonable expectation

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
