Yeah I can't see a player of this calibre going outside top 10. He just offers enough that is different and stands out.

It’s reach that matters, height is irrelevant.

Seems to have footy ‘smarts’, a strong work ethic, good agility for a tall kid, good hands and a long kick.  Very happy if we can work our way up the draft and nab him.

Moves real well, cant wait for the 194cm debate......

Oh, he's 194cm? Will never be a player. No thanks. Admins, please close the thread now.

Best key forward in the upcoming draft. We’ll need to get a top 5 pick to have a chance at drafting him.

Also believe there’s already a thread about him?

Measure out 6cm it really isn’t that much. If he has a leap and good reach it will neutralise them deficit. Plus he may grow another few cms in the next year or two.

Can he crash a pack though ?

Aaron seems to have a good :"footy brain" - sees options , shares the ball, tackles fiercely - but those misshapen goals at KittyLitter Park seem evasive 🤯

For comparison, here is a really interesting video on Charlie Curnow from his draft year.

He talks about not really knowing where his best position was, but he says forward, mid or back.

At that stage, he was 191cm (I think he's 192cm now), but it's his explosiveness that makes him such a threat and provides him with that x factor.

Interestingly, he compares himself at that stage to Jake Stringer.

Cadman does seem more like the smooth moving half forward type, but perhaps JVR can be that more explosive competitor at 192cm.

Be interesting to see who gets Cadman and I'd love to be a fly on the wall amongst Melbourne recruiters this year.

If Jacko wants to go to Fremantle, I'd be asking their trading guy for a suitably high pick.

If he refuses, we could then respond with "Don't be a cad, man".

Of course, that risks being banned from the draft under the Appalling Dad Joke rule.

Luckily, he has grown. He said on the Road to the Draft podcast he is now over 196cm.

Highlights from the last Championship game for those that are interested in the key forward. If I'm North Melbourne I'm not passing him up considering the amount of mids they've invested in recently.

Just confirming - in the last ten minutes he won the game for Vic Country with a goal weaving through a pack followed by a goal from a strong leading mark?

Noice.

I don’t think Norf need a KPF but could understand them taking him. They need more half backs and outside midfielders. They already have Larkey and Zurhar which are good forwards. I think they will also need a ruck as Coleman Jones is a bit meh.

Put them back in front, but Metro got up to win

What’s he like in pack mark / contested marking situations? Of the three highlights packages most of his marks are on the lead and he’s out in space. When going for a contested mark he only really took the one and that was juggled.
Long range kicking for goal reasonably accurate with the odd shank.
Keeps his feet in the contest.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
