Decent stat sheet for Toby Greene.

21 disposals and 7.2

On pure talent and influence who is better than Toby Greene?

I can think of maybe 4-5 players. If he played 100% midfield would be interesting to see how he would go

Pure footballler but also has the leap to make him play a little taller.  Strength of an ox.  Hard to push off the ball and often works his opp off the ball himself. Love watching this bloke, apart from when he starts his sniping off the ball.

Talk about footy smarts and clever forward craft.  Has more talent on one toe than most forwards and more dangerous than most of them as well.  Doesn't miss very often either.

What a pitty he signed up again (for life!?) with the Greatest Waste of Space.

Amazing how teams are kicking high scores & we can't do it this season after doing it last season.

If your tall and small forwards can kick bags and your mids can contribute a few, then it’s not amazing. ATM we don’t have that.

I would never have though Levi Casboult and Mabiol Chol would be such good pick-ups for the Suns. Either of them would have been a big help for us this year.

I looked up the definition of a backhanded compliment and that is what i read

Especially Casboult. He’s been consistently good.

Very nasty and not very pleasant viewing.  He's a good kid too 😞

dreadful.

The top 8 teams that had quietly notched up their Suns game as a win they can think again.

Big fight on for the last few spots in the 8.

Suns play 5 teams below them so will be pushing their case.

Would be delighted to see them make it especially if it means Pies, Bulldogs and Saints don't.

Poor Rowell. Just can't take a trick. He just cannot get a full season in. I really hope he isn't one of these players we never see what they will be because of injuries.

A good win by the suns though

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
