How can that not be a 50 against 2 meter Peter - should be a report for a charge (though was it Cox 😎 who got away with it a  few weeks ago?)

I'm vaguely Celtic, I guess the link with Henrik.L when I first went O/S 20 years ago... more about parochial australiana. 👌

Went to Hamden in 1974 for Rangers v Celtic. Although I love the colours (green & white) but resinated with the R's. There were eight of us from various parts from around the world. (Rangers won) and the crowd was amazing. You could not move as we were shoulder to shoulder and one of our party complained of a "warm leg" from behind. Forget getting out for a toilet break. Great time though. Still love watching matches on Youtube. Atmosphere is brilliant.

Surely those Weagles Guernseys are the ugliest in the league! 🤮

Nothing like our navy blue and red combo 😎

Again a play on after Shiel tried the faux handpass to draw a 50. Just hope it is called consistently ( and of course it won’t be).

Looks like an early night for me.  H v E on 7 pretty boring stuff.  Tried B vs WC on Kayo only to get Derwaynne and the inane pun, rasp voice commentary.  Unbearable.  Will check scores in morning.

West Coast to their credit are trying hard and defensively working their [censored] off. They’ll still lose by 100 points.

McStay a big out for Lions with both Daniher and Hipwood on the sidelines. Rayner now taking on a big role up forward.

Hi MT64. Have you seen the footage of Ibrox rocking on Thursday night ? This is the footage of the gantry where the cameraman was sitting shaking after the game.

Thought hawthorn wern't playing great and look like they are playing differently to how they played against us played last week, but then towards the end got a roll on and hold a 3 goal lead.

Cmon west coast , need a heap of goals

Geez. GC aside it's been a pretty underwhelming day of football.

Wow. They had a backline?

Solid. I’ll pay that

Not counting my chickens but if we do manage to see off the Saints tomorrow there's every chance we could be sitting on top at 10-0 with 200% by the time we come up against Freo.

Take a bow Nick Martin.  All class this kid

Hi Superunknown. Not from me but I'm definitely taking the time to smell the flowers while I can.

Peter Wright is one of the most improved player in the league this season

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Sunday’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • PREGAME: Fremantle

After a stunning victory over the Saints in the first round of the Season the Demons head over to Perth to take on the Dockers who choked in their first match against the Cats. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
