CHANGES : Rd 08 vs St. Kilda

Demonland

Recommended Posts

In: Neal-Bullen, Pickett, Petty, Jackson, Sparrow, Goodwin

Out: Melksham, Bedford, Smith, Weideman, Dunstan, Yze

Edit: that said, no doubt there’ll be more COVID during the week. Happy for any of the above “outs” to go around again depending on who’s out. I thought they all contributed really well.

Depends on who has recovered in time to do some training.

I would drop TMc for selfishness. Pinched Harmes goal and burnt a bunch of players in good positions to chance a long range goal.  Missed.

I’ll give him benefit of the doubt on the mark: I thought it was just him losing track of his own location and needing to make a split second decision with the ball about to land on him. It was definitely clumsy and didn’t look good but I don’t think it was an intentional goal steal.

I agree the long range shot was poor though.

I'd have Spargo out before Bedford based on today's game

Not a  knock on Sprago, but Bedford looks good. Has speed and skill

Bedford + Kozzi hunting in the forward line?   I like it!

The great unknown. Hopefully all 5 are ok and it was a mild case.

Bedford will be unlucky to lose his spot but Kossie is more important. Milkshake Dunstan and Chandler will drop back down Smith looks injured and I guess one of Tmac or Weid. Of course we might have more cases during the week.

I'd keep Bedford to start. Petty is coming back for Smith obviously with his injury. Neal Bullen for Melksham & LJ back for someone.

The advantage is McDonald can go back when we need him to. Like in the final quarter where he did ok.

Easy.

outs. Spargo Dunstan Smith Melksham Weideman

ins. The Covid 5.  Sparrow Anb Petty Jackson Pickett

Bedford stays in.  Offers more than Spargo based on todays game.  Bedford and Pickett would be a dangerous combo imv and should be given a few games together.

Well we will have one forced change at least with Smith. Let’s hope Petty is right to go.

Really torn on Bedford. He played so well. Hard to drop him for Kosi but hard to leave Kosi out.

Weid v T Mc remains a ???

Hard to judge today because Sam rucked a fair bit and Tom went down back late.

Still think if Tom can play just ok footy he’s the right choice because we’re just so top heavy with Weid and Brown.

my reasoning was that dribble goal Sw missed, Tmac would have nailed it,

Who chooses Weid over McDonald tonight? Really. McDonald is more aggressive and smart and competes in the air.  Weid hasn’t taken his chances and hasn’t taken a contested mark in weeks.
Jackson back in and Weid out.  Just my opinion.

Took some tonight.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
