Weideman has to keep his spot with the way Brown is playing.

I'm not reading that much into it.  He's not playing for a spot in the seniors, he's just maintaining match fitness.

Well he had a lot better last quarter but I personally think Weid keeps his spot. The question is who replaces Tomlinson? Does Petty come in straight away or does Joel.Smith take his spot. Personally I'd give Petty one more week in the 2's. Joel.Smith for mine.

One of the Casey small forwards need to get a crack. We have a lot of depth that needs some AFL exposure to develop further as the VFL just isn’t the same.

i think Petty needs another week or two and BBB slots straight back in for Weid.

Brown came back into the side last year off the back of a half-pace VFL outing and played a key role for the rest of the year. Must come back in immediately.

Tomlinson surely will be dropped. Ben.Brown was playing for his spot just like every VFL player. There is not much difference between Weideman and Brown. People are acting like his form was fantastic in the AFL it was just ok. He didn't touch it in the first half, didn't do enough for mine. Don't be surprised to see Weideman starting against GWS.

Sorry Werridee but if you think that Weideman is not that much different to BBB Then I beg to differ. If u look at our structures BBB GIVES much more than Weeds in a number of ways

1 He runs far and wide and his leading patterns are much better

2 He is a much better Pack mark

3 He doesnt get pushed under the ball

4 He brings it to the ground more

He comes STRAIGHT IN and I dont give a stuff who makes way for him!

He's better than Weideman but I don't think he's a player that comes straight in. Weideman wasn't bad enough to be dropped without Brown showing form. Brown never touched it in the first half. Weideman will have to play a game as bad as his Collingwood game last year without Brown showing any form. If Brown plays well he's in but he didn't, I'm confident Weideman will stay in the side and Brown won't be playing but we will just have to to selection time against GWS.

I would have BBB in on the basis that even before his Covid protocol, he was our PREMIER FORWARD!

I think it irrelevant what he does at Casey. I'll put my house on the fact that he will be in Next Week ( Baring any unforeseen circumstances)

He just has to be in!!

Our premier forward is Fritsch. Our premier key forward is Brown but that's not saying much I don't think our key forwards have set the world a light as yet. Brown was unlucky to be out with covid but it's a tough team to break into and I was hoping he would show a bit more form not to touch it in the first half is not acceptable. Weideman needs a bit more time to show his wares while I think Brown has to show he really wants it. Time will tell.

Brown has played with desire in the seniors and I think you are underselling him. A run back with Casey would expect the main priority was don't get injured.

I want to see Weid succeed too but  to say they are close is a misnomer. If Weid gets more exposure it's not at the expense of a fit Brown. Weid needs to earn his place, and two good games in a row would be a good start. Too often he comes in with a flurry and then does nothing for the next few games.

Thought Petty played a serviceable Game tonight.  Petty in for Tomlinson for mine. Never been a fan of Smith but even I must confess Smith has played better toey this year. So, maybe Smith for Hunt but in any case changes will be minimal knowing Goody's track record.

What Weeds showed Thursday was substandard. He has had plenty of time to show his wares. For me BBB has consistently delivered over the journey. If it came down to picking Weideman or Brown, BBB gets the nod every time IMO

KC from Casey couldn’t make the trip to Williamstown so we conscripted The Night Watchman -

CASEY BY HALF by The Night Watchman

It was no walk in the park in the night for the highly ranked Casey Demons who ventured to Williamstown for their first away encounter on Saturday night. The winless Seagulls put up stout resistance throughout the game after a slow start and their first half was outstanding.

The Demons lifted their intensity after trailing at half time and it was their superior fitness and class late in the game that gave them a flattering 100-65 result.

Early on, it looked like it was going to be a cakewalk as goals to Van Rooyen, White and Laurie saw the Demons off to a flyer with a 19-0 lead after less than ten minutes. But the Seagulls rallied over the next ten minutes to snatch the lead before Moniz-Wakefield and White again gave Casey a two goal buffer at quarter time.

Williamstown came out in the second full of running and shut down their opponents for most of the term to go in at half time with an unexpected 1 point lead. It was certainly not the scenario that Casey fans were expecting.

It was only after the break that the Casey boys regained composure and took control of the game. Van Rooyen put them back in front and Chandler added to the lead after a well-earned free kick. Majak Daw’s conversion after a terrific pack mark had the Demons three goals up before the Seagulls offered some light resistance which was torpedoed by late goals to Woewodin and Munro before the last change which put the Demons 21 points ahead with the opposition tiring.

In the end, the Demons worked their way to a comfortable 35 point win with a couple of late goals to Ben Brown and a second to the nippy Moniz-Wakefield.

Overall it was a satisfactory result with nobody really starring for Casey as the team did its business in a workmanlike manner. It was probably Rosman’s best game at the club. Petty and Ellison stood firm in defence and Dunstan was steady in the middle. Daw worked tirelessly in the ruck. A number of young players flashed in and out of the play and are gaining valuable experience to bank away for the future but none are ready to step up to the big time tomorrow.

The Casey Demons return home next Sunday for an assignment against league improvers Coburg and will need to be on the ball for more than half a game if they are to deliver the goods and retain their unbeaten record.

Not sure of tog %, but was on the ground in all 4 quarters.

Played well, moved well and doesn't look too far away to my eye. Class above VFL level.

Beautiful hands.

(I went, and had my binos on him quite a bit)

"Disinterested" is a commonly misused word that rolls off the tongue easily, but it means unbiased.  You would hope, for example, that the umpires were disinterested.

What mono was saying is that if you don't care, the correct word is "uninterested".

Are you able to give a run down on player's who impressed you and some of our young players.

If I get time I'd like to watch the replay later.
