funny that hogan plays against former clubs in consecutive weeks

i didn't see the preuss hit - was watching the other game - but was it actually bad? high? deliberate? what level of impact?

Elbow to the head. The bloke was fine so that might help. Definitely deliberate

They won’t show a replay so hard to judge the impact

No one in the media wants to say it so let me. JUH sucks.

I don’t disagree with that assessment but how insane is the hype/pressure on these kids.  The media had gone mental with the hype on JUH before he’d even played a senior game. They have no time to develop.

And he’s surrounded by a lot of trash up there except Naughton who is elite.

Reckon I’ve counted at least a dozen times Bailey Smith raising his arms having a sook to the umpire wanting a free.

The epitome of a Flat track Bull. First to go missing when the heat is on.

Maybe for inaccurate kicking.

If you play on his left side, he’d have nothing

Would trade for Weideman.

No Mitch Hannan, no Bulldogs😁

I wondered if he was our there, but then I do that most weeks.

and still no scrutiny on Leon Cameron?  Looking pretty ordinary with a gifted list, but no heart

40 free kicks to 16 to Freo

again I ask - what is happening to our game?

hard to watch

You need to have people be interested in your club to be scrutinized

40 to 16 free kicks Fremantle’s way. Think the umpires think the Bulldogs are playing two game’s tonight.

Dogs have a brutal fixture coming up too

How so?
North, Adelaide, Essendon and Port is their next 4. Should win them all.

I lived 20 years of this crap at Subi oval, hence my extreme dislike of the Original druggies and their chardonnay slopping [censored] supporters

So much good footy in backlines and midfields this season, but some of the worst forward 50 entries and goalkicking I have seen in a long time. Including the Dees. Not sure of the causes (exhaustion, lack of practice?)  but it is really noticeable. Teams playing well enough to win, and losing it through forward errors must be killing some coaches.

The Dogs were good for the most part tonight but woeful goal kicking. Their midfields not sprinting to the next contest really hurt them too.

Boy I hope we get our goal kicking and forward entries fixed up. If it wasn't for our backs and mids strangling sides, some of our forward kicking could be costing us games.

Is this a VFL/AFL record?

Yep. Umpiring was disgraceful and quite obviously bias to Fremantle. But GWS just dropped their head after the bad calls. And good clubs don’t do that. We get worse calls than anyone by the umpiring, we are consistently on the receiving end of terrible umpiring, yet we always wrestle back the momentum, as good teams do. GWS aren’t a good team. They look to me like a team with ridiculous talent, but no one has taught them to play to a structure. Their midfielders are out chasing kicks, and bombing it in the forward line without a care. I suspect Clarkson will take a good look at GWS and probably put his hand up for the job. The list is there.

Dogs don't have to play him if he's not ready but I agree.
Look a' moi Mia Fevola didn't help his cause for over exposure.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
