There's a buzz at work that Max is not playing - anyone heard anything? Trying to get to source, but an Essendon-connected colleague is sure about it - possibly covid related

Max just posted an insta story of himself at a cafe about 20 minutes ago.

I think you've fallen victim for an April fools joke..!

I wanna see Bomber supporters going into nuclear meltdown mode at the ground and listen to them sook on SEN driving home after going 0-3 tonight and how they "shouldn't have got rid of Sheedy and that's the reason why we are in this mess."

The only match of the year where I go into feral mode and want to inflict pain and misery onto a club...and sit back with a smile in my face while it all happens.

Only concern for mine is being on the receiving end of umpiring like last night. HQ won't want one of their favourites being 0-3.

Crush them boys.

I'd think the last thing the AFL want is another lopsided free kick count which will be counter intuitive to their broader push to respect the umpires. They'd be hoping for the commentary to be around the quality of the football rather than the umpiring and that last night's game is forgotten by Sunday.

I cannot write down the hatred and Loathing i feel to Essendrug.
They should still be doing a 10 year Ban from the Competition in my opinion

Smash them Demons. Hurt them, just don’t get reported

I'm surprised by the hate strongly negative attitude towards Essendon in this thread. There may be all sorts of reasons for it, but I wonder whether it all boils down to latent hostility following on from the result of the 2000 GF?

As I've said before, I don't dislike any team but subscribe to the view that I support Melbourne and any team playing Collingwood. I've always believed that other teams are our friends in battle with the true enemy (for want of another word) being the other winter codes.

Did you ever go to Windy Hill in the 70’s or 80’s??

hatred goes a long way further back than 2000, I assure you

I hate Essendon above all other teams because of their arrogance, their brutality in the 2000 GF, going to Windy Hill, their arrogance and their absolute refusal to accept responsibility or come clean about what they gave the players when they drug cheated. I also find them particularly arrogant.
Back in 2012-15 I used to make a deal with a god that I don’t believe in, that I could live with just one win for the year as long as that was against the Bombers

Never went to Windy Hill. Clearly it was a place that has scarred people for life.

Just to be clear, I'm not critical of others and their choice of teams they hate. I just don't have the same feelings.

If you never stepped inside Windy Hill, then you have no understanding of what it was like, and i am not having a go at you. Just telling the truth

Yep, the terror and cant of Windy Hill is a historical fact. Getting out of the ground at the end of the match, and getting home safely with children and wives - risky business.
