I dunno. On paper they are so talented but I don’t rate their coach. They’ve had a gun team for so long but something is just NQR.

100% the coach IMO.

Anyone else watch/remember the 'Making Their Mark' doco series? I think Dimma is a bit of a kn*b, but the difference between his team meetings and the Cameron ones were stark. Every Richmond player knew the answers to Dimma's questions, every hand up, positive and proactive, then cut to Cameron's ones and it was just him abusing a room full of young men all with their heads down and not talking.

100% agreed. Cameron and GWS came out of that doco looking far worse than all others. It basically showed Cameron as a negative abusive coach who didn’t have buy in from his players. The way he handled Coniglio and leadership was poor. He didn’t have strong strategies in place and understanding from his players. It was shocking to see. As long as he’s coach of GWS, they’re going nowhere. He’s a poor coach and if they had someone like Goodwin or Hardwick instead they’d have won a flag already.

As for this match, it’s poor quality. Port remain an average team, but I’m surprised Brisbane aren’t performing better. They’re in their sweet spot to challenge and have the talent.

I’m really unimpressed by this game.
I assume it’s humid and hot hence the poor ball handling. But both teams look lethargic.

So I’ve worked out I’m pro Brisbane but anti Daniher

Spot on

Joe you absolute peanut.

Haha even the universe has it in for Joe Daniher.

Poor Joe Daniher has just confirmed that he is THE dumbest footballer in the competition.  Hand balling after the siren when he marked straight in front.

Joey - first class A1 goose

Daniher smiling and shaking every ones hand before going in to the change rooms to me means he is going to cop a Fagan blast. What a complete phuknuckle

I’ve grown over the years and don’t like to disparage players… Joe D is an interesting individual, like wow, a case study of some kind. How much are they paying him?

He has the ability to do the magical, on rare occasions but far to often he’s off with his head noise having a dance party and loving it.

Doesn’t look like either of these teams will finish top 4 with this display.
Bring the heat and both of these teams will crumble. Nothing has changed since last year.

Maybe 17 clubs know they can’t match a certain team? Did they watch the GF last year and go OMG

I’m very disappointed with Brisbane. They look slow, lethargic and their skills are absolutely god awful. What has happened here?
Port look hungrier but I struggle to rate them. Maybe that’s on me.

Somehow Joe Daniher has been the most interesting thing about this game.

The Pear are going to end up with 17 players and a 50 point flogging.

Here he is, Joe D to shut us all up.

Chris Johnson has been excellent in commentary, excellent.

This is quite a different contest now.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
