Isn’t Casey Fields the toughest road trip, we’ve won the last 12?  Adelaide beat Freo at Fremantle oval last week and we won there in Round 8 last year but this game is at Optus Stadium, home of a recent and famous drought-breaking Demons triumph.  If we have any designs on winning tonight we will need to be a lot tougher than we were against Adelaide at Norwood Oval recently.  Meggs will be glued to the tv tonight and has high hopes for a supreme effort, loves the ins and reckons we can win.

Edited by Meggs

We have the side to beat Freo but like any trip to Perth the travel legs syndrome begins to appear.

How was Gillard omitted?

Thought she was excellent last week.

Young body not up to repeat efforts, didn't fit team structures, or just not able to commit as not full time athletes.

I thought Gillard did well last week too….

Freo badly impacted by the dreaded "health and safety" protocols. Bad luck for them bu big opportunity for us

brilliant snap from Kate Hore

And playing really well, too.

Liking our run, that quarter was played at breakneck speed. Very entertaining

We’re on 🔥!

Keep it up girls!!!

Tayla Harris has made such a difference this year. Such a strong mark

That's the most polished half of football that I've ever seen from our AFLW team.  Keep it up girls!

Played some decent footy in that half. However Freo are badly affected with covid nonsense which is helping us. I am really impressed with Purcells and Wests game. Daisy has been fantastic.

Maybe Pert was on to something. Daise should definitely go around again

How good is Optus Stadium

My opinion of it has gone up a little since 2018 that's for sure.

Enjoying the girls live for a change.  They look good except Harris, hopefully she changed boots at halftime… l

lets secure top 2, big half coming up.

Tayla Harris is a terrific focal point, such a strong overhead mark. And a clever kick too. That was a ripper in the 2nd qtr to Daisy for a goal.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
