OK, I'll start:

Kangas'll have the tusk ahead of them...

Wonder if the North game will be in Hobart and the Cup comes at the same time?

You may very well be on the money but I was under the impression no club will be travelling in week 1 in order to mitigate the risk of COVID.

Will it be a full-length game or a trunkated version?

There's only one way to beat North Melbourne

one bite at a time.

A really mammoth tusk. Or, if you will, a woolly mammoth tusk.
(Soz, that’s all I’ve got)

You're all dodging around something.

You know, that mammal in the room?

ivory-ly agree

Off season chat is SO much better when we are not reigning premiers.

At least there is actual speculation as to what the season ahead may bring.

*No, I am not saying I wish we didn't win the flag......

There's lots of speculation on other threads, Faulty! But the cockiness of supremacy always threatens - as is the case here - to lead to frivolity.

For my part, I apologise.

Nah. Just joking.

Can't blame anyone for enjoying the moment, except for the 20 year olds who have no idea what "wait and hope" means.

My boy, who is 16, had to front up at primary school week after week in multiple seasons when we won 2-4 games and cop it from everyone in the school (except from the one other kid who was a dees supporter).

I reckon even the 20 year olds would understand what wait and hope means and equally deserve to enjoy the moment.

Hawthorn and Collingwood is at Morwell on February 25. Guessing the rest will be announced soon.

I've heard a rumour that for the Melb v North scratch match we'll be playing for the Ben Brown Trophy which will look just like this but with the third finger upright, rather than the second.

Wrong. Hawthorn play Richmond in Devonport in the official games on March 5.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
