oh bummer. i hoped it would work when the covid stuff settles down

In reference to what you have been saying the question I fired off was about reserve seat ticket holders getting access to their reserved seats and how to do it on your mobile membership. Is it going to be like last year getting online between such abd such hours to book a seat or can you get your normal seat pre arranged before the season starts. I too prefer the membership card but alas the one in the mail is not for access.

You sound like me wedded to a system that will never return dl4e.

Might be good to understand why the QB clash at the MCG is a Collingwood home game in 2022, given we haven't been able to play there the last 2 years?

If we count 2022, in the last 4 years Collinwood will have played 2 QB home games at the MCG (~$2mill revenue) and we haven't played any (probably generating a loss for games interstate)

Agreed. Should have used this year to re-set the QB and Anzac Eve game. That way we can have one of these as a home game each year, rather than two in one year.

They certainly won't announce anything before the vic government does ... take that to the bank

$200M extension to AAMI park for our facilities and HQ from what ive been told from those in the know.

Presumably at that cost it will be much more extensive than just our part of the deal

Tried to submit a question just a minute ago - message came back saying submissions closed. Perhaps because of all the garbage stories that came out over the last couple of days?

Not sure how you would manage this at club level. They will have deluged with questions about the new “scandal  “ and would be threatening  to overwhelm all the other good things that happened in 2021. To remove questions would be a scandal on its own, to allow them will mean nothing else gets any light.

An upside?

The new home news might get rushed through and announced.

I do not envy the organisers they are in a no win situation.

This could have been a very spicy meeting if it was an in person event.

How lucky are they that it is not DL. Much more control, you could blanket almost anything however I don't think that would be a good idea.

Lucky the spicy cough going around is preventing these in person events from taking place.

Me to Jontee.!!

I replied and submitted a question, but got no link... and forgot.

To me it was like a warm fireside chat, albeit seated at tables.  Are dee fans so satisfied that no 'curly' questions were raised?

Disappointed there was no update on training facilities.

It was good hearing Selwyn Grffith chat about his plan for fitness and it sounded like he would continue the Burgess philosophy of building 'physical resilience' in players to not always rest them from training and playing when they have an injury.  It was a key strategy in our successful 2021 season and flag.

Come on folks what did you really expect them to say about the HS article it has been answered by the club and that will be about it, as for the training venue that has been answered by Roffy numerous times when something is to be announced it will be made public, I understand the need to a final home base but that did not win us a premiership, people in the right places did coaching, development, board, players etc, they did alright out in Casey in the short term until they get back to Gosh's paddock with the new oval.

Do people expect a social club integrated in the new building what don't think thats going to happen.

Absolutely not and not sure how you inferred that I thought there should be comments on the HS articles.

Last year's success does not remove our need and interest for progress updates.  Yes, we are told the state government will make the announcements.  Even then it wouldn't hurt the club to get some sort of overview/ big picture commentary from the state government.

It wouldn't hurt to be given some info as to what stage they are at.  eg What are the stages/project plan, in general terms.  Has the 'scoping' stage finished.  A loose 'time line'.  None of that is difficult and it would all be well known internally by now.

I asked a curly question LH.  I asked how members were supposed to make a decision on who to elect to the Board if candidates were only allowed to submit a 300 word description on their credentials.

When i logged on last night it kept freezing so I'll watch today.  I didn't expect an answer to my question but Roffey ducks anything hard.  I've lost a lot of respect for the Board.  Thank heavens the players have higher standards.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
