Very surprised at the lack of love from the coaches for Brayshaw. I thought he was critical this year…player number 11 each week?

EDIT: Whispering Jack beat me to the screenshot. All yours Jack.

If he had an ultra consistent season, a player at 11th - on say 340 votes - might have got 15 votes a game, which is 3 4s and a 3, i.e. a 7th/8th best each week. So Gus might have a bit more love than his position suggests? All theoretical, but.

@Brenno, I was halfway through answering when umpteen other, multifinger, typers answered you. Sorry!

Standing ovation for Nathan Jones is genuine and moving. He represents our club like no-one else.

Sensational.  The crowd chanting "Jonesy" was a memorable moment.

Would have loved to organise a parting gift for the Jones boy from the supporters if i was more connected and in the money.   A hotted up GT mustang or similar in Demon colours with the No.2 subtley imprinted into the finish with the words "thanks for everything chunk" or similar branded somewhere appropriate.  Maybe on the tow ball!

Harmesy you beauty son!  Was in the top 15 or so for the season IMV.  Boy likes to party! 😄

Of the wings, Langdon was superior. Bradshaw had an amazing GF and sacrificed for the team to play defensive wing but he still did struggle to perform offensively.

Not a criticism coz someone has to do the hard work but I can see why he’s outside the top 10.

Clarry chooo choojust a stunning year😂

Luv ya son😁

Clarry "Bang Bang Bang" Oliver = B&F.

Congrats Clarry - coaches award and bluey. Well deserved, ripper of a year.

Reitetated Luv ya Son what a brilliant season

Take a drink for every mention of "so, um, yeah", "so, obviously" and "appreciate that".

Only joking, Clarrie. You cashed in all your public speaking points for an upgrade in football talent. A wise decision! GO DEMONS!!!

Our 23 year old daughter graduated at La Trobe yesterday. She has a hyphenated Polish German name. I remarked to my beautiful wife during the proceedings that the percentage of Anglo names in the hundred graduates was possibly 10%. That's why I truly loved Christian's comment that 2 out of the 5 winners were wogs. Fantastic stuff, us wogs and other derogatory names are our future.

Awesome, Great I love the guy.

After the first 5 minutes in his first game he was our best midfielder

After first full match he was the best pure midfielder I had seen at the club in 45 years.

After his second season he was the best player at the club.

After his first Premiership he is a triple B and F winner @ 24.

And still he is under rated.

The guy is an absolute legend and there is heaps more to come.

Different final numbers (and positions, Tommy!) from Rounds 1-23, so finals included, evidently. Trac closed on Clarry, and Nibbler's finals were good. Tough on Ed.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
