Ross Dillon was my first ever Demon hero, closely followed by Robbo, so I love the number. 
Apart from Jurrah, there’s not much else on the list to get excited about, though in saying that , obviously Rivers is going to rewrite the history of #24

Jurrah was the one who brought the fans in . Sadly a trip home was the beginning of the end of career

He was certainly on my radar when I was a kid.  One of those all round sports who excelled at football and cricket.  He played in those days when a knee injury was the end of many a promising career.

Ross Dillon was one of my favourites but Russell Robertson is a Demon great that has a special place in my families hearts and agree that Trent Rivers could be anything.!!

Robbo would have been even greater if he kept his feet.

Ross Dillon closely followed by Robby.

Liam Jurrah could have been a great but events overtook him.

Robbo no if ands or buts.

Only 1 premiership player since 64'. Might well be behind a few at this stage - certainly not the flashy stuff of Robbo and Jurrah - However by the end of his career reckon young Rivers may be the best of the lot. 

The kid just gets to the right spots, a ball magnet from half back as a 2nd year player. No sign of 2nd year blues - so much upside to come

1: Dillon: 85 injury-interrupted games in a very ordinary side in which he won regular Victorian selection.

2: Robertson: 228 games, great player but one dimensional, mark but no chase... 

3:  Jarrah: the complete freakish footballer, but only 36 games...

 

Trent Rivers will be number one by the time he's finished.

I just love 'em all.

He dominated with the Big V, just quietly.

But Robbo kicked those crucial goals and lots of them that won us games of football. !!

I agree Robbo  was the best in kicking goals that's what he was there for. 
BUT as pointed out once he didn't take the mark that was the end of the ball game!

No tackles and not any good ground ball getters ( crumbles) to mop up.

Wonder  how Goody would have gotten around this problem. 

Ross Dillon easily no 1. Brett Bailey was a very underated midfielder who played 80 + games for MFC.I remember one game where he kicked 5 goals vs Essendrug when they were good.

Ross Dillon's reputation suffers from playing in a terrible team for all his career. On the other hand, he did get to sit with the Queen, Prince Phillip and Princess Anne. (It's a bit sad when that's probably the highlight of your career.)

Robbo kicked 419 goals and is fourth on the all time goal kicking list and only 7 behind Garry Lyon. He was the only 24 since 1964 to win a B&F (I think).

I didn't see Ross Dillon play but Robbo has a much better CV for Melbourne.

In terms of potential and probably talent I could possibly agree but at only 30 odd games .......  Otherwise we could end up in the mythical realms of the 3rd Flower brother and the 4th Waugh brother....

 Ross Dillon had a Schwarz like career .After his first game against Richmond he was touted as being a future super star .But he did the knee soon  thereafter and although he became a valuable player on his return he was never quite the same both here or in SA  .As good a judge of the flight of the ball as you will ever seer

Bailey snapped the goal that gave us the pre-petracca premiership in 1987.

Robertson was an excitement machine. Not a very tall fwd...about the same height as Fritta I think but a fair amount more solid. Gee he could leap and like Fritta always knew where the goals were and kicked some spectacular ones.
