Farewell Luke Jackson

Lucifers Hero

Recommended Posts

Get the feeling he will be moving on or am I behind the times and this been stated.

If he has family there and there's more money all the best.

At least he helped us win a flag and I'm grateful to him for those 2 minutes of ecstacy in the middle.

Big loss but as long as Kozzie stays and we are well compensated then what can you do?

Heard from a reliable source the following: Luke Jackson’s family is pushing for him to move back to WA. Specifically, his mother, who wants him back in WA. Freo may not be able to get the deal done, but the family’s preference is for him to play for Freo and not West Coast. They are heavy in the ear of his manager. It seems the decision to head home is not entirely Luke’s. Take it or leave it. The source is pretty solid though

Interesting as I think this is what @Grand New Flag also said earlier. wonder if the source is that same person.

Yep, I will be looking for some apologies from some of our more aggressive DLs on this and the looming trade request from Tomlinson.

Oh I think he will go as he should, but I don’t trust you or that you know ‘anyone’ and will remind people on here of that.

Consider it ‘the consequences of your actions.’

To be honest, i have not heard this but Interesting audio coming out of the West from Gossage and the guys on 1116 this morning, stating that the needle might have shifted slightly and a 2 year deal at Dees now is not out of the question.

Take it for what you want..

It would make sense, giving Freo time to put a good trade package together. In the meantime Dees supporters would have to band together to find the most eligible 21-year-old bachelorettes in the city and throw them in front of Jacko

It couldn't be too hard could it? 😝

Gary Lyon on SEN just said Jacko deal to Freo not done yet. Could possibly sign a 2 yr extension with us

This was from someone he knows in the industry but said he didn’t know and it wasn’t from the MFC  He was just passing it on

The intrigue continues.

Third hand reporting - but SEN spoke of a report by Kim Hagdorn that Jackson is increasingly ‘likely’(?) to sign a 2 year deal with Melbourne. I couldn’t ascertain if this was on SEN WA and I wasn’t able to find anything further.

Apologies if I’ve skewed the wording or taken it out of context, I was multitasking as it came on.

I still think he’s likely gone.

i hope he stays just for that very reason.. mind you.. I have been very adamant he is going and still am to be honest, all the while hoping he does not go. So I put my hand up.

But i have also been very strong on what gets the deal done and at a minimum what we want Freo cant give us.

I am not sure who you think you are, do you own this site? Are you DL God? Just apologise and stop abusing me and other poster who have information you don't like.

It’s because you spoke absolute BS about his mum. Met and spoken to the family on a few occasions and you as on previous occasions in many other threads you’re full of it

Bloody Hell, just when I was reconciled to being excited by all the new stars we would get from our 8 picks in the top ten I once again have to recalibrate.

Don't stress, it will be win-win for our club in the end, confident!

It looks like Dogga wants to do the right thing by Melbourne and won't leave unless the deal if fair all around. I hope the club stick to their guns on this and don;t settle for an average trade. 2 high first rounders is the price

Grundy, TDK viable options if he leaves but the best outcome is if he signs with us again. I've no doubt about that

There is still no compelling reason for  Jackson to go in my view

The reality is there are compelling reasons for him to stay

I really hope he does and I'm as sure as I can be that he will

Try to Remember Jacko has said nothing and is starting to play some good footy

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.
