I highly recommend watching the replay over the live recording. Ad free. Check out the look in Petracca's eyes after he kicks that dribbler near the end of the third. He looks like he could run through a brick wall and rip the head off a buffalo. Channel 7 cuts to an ad and you completely miss it

Here it is. Look at his eyes ๐Ÿ˜ค

Another bizarre coincidence

- Years since we've won a premiership (prior to last night): 57 Yearsย

- Age of Norm Smith when he passed away: 57 Years Old

- Points we scored in the final quarter last night: 57 Points

So proud today, so proud to be part of this great club.ย
ย

What a game!

The 3 goals in two minutes to finish the 3rd qtr was pure magic!

Rewatched the second half this morning over bacon and eggs and a recovery smoothie.ย

Just from watching some of the goals on various social media posts the 1%โ€™s become so much more apparent. Two that come to mind are was Sparrow hand balling to Salem then going on to shepherd Treloar as Salem kicks to Trac who kicks the opening goal, TMac jostling with Keath (?) on the goal line as Sparrows kicks from just on 50 in the dying moments of the 3rd.

Iโ€™ve got the week off so definitely going to sit down and watch the replay in full again. I love footy so much and last night was testament as to why.

Such a surreal feeling knowing that we are the 2021 Premiers!

Genuinely so so happy for him. He really is a beautiful humble guy who had a really tough couple of years and got pushed out by his club (bunch of absolute fools!). Came in, fought hard to regain fitness, played his role, and made a massive massive difference to the team.ย
Also he is amazing at drawing free kicks. I forgot how much it used to annoying meโ€ฆ now I love it!

Such a funny narrative.

Because the more logical argument would be the cats game (which built on the round 23 and qf games) was not some random, freak event.

Rather, it was evidence of our form and what we are capable of.ย

As evidenced by the grand final.

That bloke in the crowd clutching his neck like heโ€™s going through the most stressful time in his life is exactly how I felt. It was brilliant, and terrifying, and way too much to comprehend.

He is the mascot of every Melbourne supporter.

So the radio commentary - is the best option to play it alongside the replay, with the replay on mute, to hear the radio commentary with the game?ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
