#Fun fact.

I'm not sure that it's directly on topic, but I just saw that the name of the Queensland Education Minister is Grace Grace.

I'm currently in that state. I think the humidity is getting to me.

I am sure it is not relevant in any way, but since you bring it up the QLD Health Minister is / was Ms Death (or Dโ€™Ath).ย

Flower was the single best footballer I've ever seen wear the Red and Blue. I think Clarry will have him covered if he plays like this for another 6 years+

The only blight on Olivers game are the overreactions he does to any form of high(ish) contact. You know, the fake spewing and stuff. It is not a good look for someone as hard at the ball as Clarry is.

Not sure about faking it. He gets more than his 'fair' share of opposition attention. Not sure how you fake a spew...ย

If the opposition gets the chance they forken smash him.
And he always gets up.
Clarry's as tough as they come.

Agree. He is targeted* more than any other Demons' player.ย

Her real name is Ignazia Graziella Grace, called "Grace" for short.

Grand Final? It was the Grandest Final.

How long ago has Clarry done this ?

2019? 2020?ย

Clarry had grown out of it.ย

I'm still waiting for Bont to be singled out for his head knock on Oliver in the Gf. It's been a while now.

He did it against Richmond this year after pickett's goal. He's as tough as nails and may well be our best player ever but he doesn't mind milking a free. Most players do it.

You don't watch him enough.

He does it often, and will again in the coming season.

You know how a cat reacts when you stick your finger in its mouth? That dry retch thing they do? Clarry does that all too often after high or heavy (illegal) contact.

ย

Watch him more closely and you'll see what I mean.

Well to be fair to Oliver,ย  they should keep their fingers to themselves.ย

I rewatched all the finals and the preceding games since our last defeat and it is obvious to me the inclusion of Bowey and Ben Brown were the last pieces of the puzzle required that made us a premiership side. Boweyโ€™s clean disposal and clever decision making over Hunts spectacular but often error ridden play made our defence โ€œno weaknessโ€ and Browns contesting and ever present danger freed up our forwards ย and midfield to score heavily which we couldnโ€™t do previously.ย

At 3/4 time in the GF, Oliver looked like he was about to collapse. I dispute that he fakes getting hurt. He cops plenty of savage hits but always gets up even if itโ€™s up to an 8 count. He has remarkable toughness. Reminds me of Rod Grinter who copped heaps but always got up.ย

During the finals he got hit in the back of the head by Selwood and hit in the side of the head by Bont, both players seemingly apologised to him. They wouldn't have if they thought he was faking, they both knew that they had hit him and it was an instantaneous apology.

Any mention of Fox Footy doing the Grand Final Recall?

Late in the season he stood under a couple hospital balls and copped knees to the kidneys.
I nearly had heart palpitations with the finals looming.
Had been our best player for the year as far as I was concerned.ย
If we needed something it usually started with Oliver going to work.ย

People forget that Balls was on the receiving end often. Gave as good as he got.

Gee it's not far away now.

It's a tough job selecting from a fit list. I understand Adam t is doing well. I wonder if round one is too soon for him. It's hard removing a gf player for him and anyone else for that matter.

I would think Hunt is an auto in but again tough to break up a gf winning side.

Not sure. Possibly young Jake b but he played so well in the granny I'm not very sure.

Good question.

I was hoping the Dogs won in 2016 as much as if we were playing but I enjoyed the Swans victory over WC with the Leo Barry You Star Mark. Great Game.ย

Unless you listened to Hunt regularly you wouldn't know who TF had the ball or WTF was going on.

I remember watching Melbourne and Geelong live while listening to him on the radio.
The way he was carrying on it was hard the believe we were actually watching the same game.

Listening to the Footy on a cold winters day making Spaghetti with my Nan one afternoon she had to ask me what we were listening to.ย

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
