How good is Ben Brown.

And how much is he loving it?

Some Priest would have fit nicely! There's going to be a lot of music played that's for sure.

I hope you’re well and truly over your injury in two weeks! There’s another match for which you need to be cherry ripe. 😁

I’m very happy for him. A genuinely beautiful human being who went through absolute hell at Norf last year. Deserves this.

I thought I saw Rivers near the boundary  pleading to come off in the last 5 mins and was kindly refused entry to the interchange.
Sorry Riv, All-Australians only permitted.

Absolutely loving re-living the game through Demonland.  Great work everyone!

May will be fine.

Looked up and about post game.

Even Goodwin post-game said they are quietly confident he will be fine.

They said it was a back related problem causing his hamstring to tighten up and if you watched him when he came off they were working on his glute area not the hamstring

Un-bloody-believable. Just an incredible performance. Refused to give an inch all night.

Hearing the Gawny chant go around the ground was magic. Lots of red and blue in the crowd. It was great to see my fellow West Aussies get around us.

I hate Geelong with a passion. Like, I properly hate them. Tune it and barrack hard against them every week. I've never felt physically ill before a game until yesterday because of this. Last night (and Rd 23) have just about made my life complete. Max Gawn is literally the Demons GOAT.

I could have written this word for word. Perfectly summed up the way I feel

I know they call soccer the beautiful game but that was beauty in chaos like you will rarely see. Gawn with one of the great individual premiership quarters and the list could go on. We have a spread of talent in attribute and age that list managers only dream of building. We have a culture and connection that few clubs ever create. We are in rare air but will still need to beat one more quality opponent to bring it home. Well played number 11, number 5, number 3 #team effort

In the victorious and dominant years ahead we will acknowledge this win as a turning point.

So I'm assuming if we win Garry will present the cup to us?

You'd think he'd be the obvious choice, provided neither Neale nor RDB are in WA

Maxs crumbing skills are on par with Kozzies.

In all honesty his ground ball skills are very good for someone his size

Just watched the replay.

May came off midway through 3rd 1/4 when we got to 70 points lead. No way our medicos would have left him on up to then if it risked a GF for him.

Absolutely. At 0ver 200 cm I am astonished at how he gathers the ball.

Yesterday he combined that with dare i say it...CATlike reflexes in getting ball to boot on the run, through the goal. Its freakish.

Jackson isnt far behind either in this department.

I'm not so sure

If it's a 3-4 week hammy, makes no difference if he plays on and makes it worse

It saves the Sub for a bit longer to protect a concussion to another player

He looked sad when he came off, and Mark Williams was in his ear I assumed it was to make him keep his mood up and important for team morale.

I hope he's OK, but not confident

Well that was a night I'll never forget, easily the best game I've seen us play we were relentless and how good was it in the last, we manically tried to stop Geelong from scoring, absolutely ruthless display that was incredible to witness. And wasn't it good to see TMac drop back in the last, it was like hmmm? we have that option too. Boy did big Max get us out of our seats he was gobsmackingly good I can't believe the level he went to and then topped it off with that chase down tackle. Everyone contributed a highlight it was such an even performance. I particularly want to mention Salem, my goodness he's as hard as a cats head and patrolled that half back line with aplomb. Young Bowey the kid is ridiculously clean, keeps his feet and consistently makes good decisions he is a gun!!

Being in a pro Melbourne crowd took me back to my early teens when I was with friends in the members stand at the MCG. My family moved to Perth when I was 16 and besides going to a Melb v Coll game in the late 90s (we won by 54 points which is the second best live game I've been to) every game since has been a WA home game. To be part of a large contingent of Melbourne supporters was amazing and on reflection nurturing and therapeutic we miss out on that over here. There was so much excitement during and after the game high fives with random people, we broke into the song with others on our long walk back to the car and heard a Transperth bus full of supporters singing as it went past us. It was a truly memorable night and everything I'd hoped for and to top it off the Stadium and Bridge to East Perth were lit up in Red and Blue after the game. Amazing.

What a great way to wake up for my birthday... Melbourne heading into the Grand Final, whilst also giving Geelong a good thrashing.

Gawn, Petracca, Oliver, Salem, Lever were amazing again last night, as they have been all year. But I was so impressed with Brayshaw's defensive efforts and Bowey's skill and composure from a 7 gamer in a big final. This kid is something!

Soak this feeling up everyone. We don't experience these days often! Go Demons!

Happy birthday to you! Enjoy🎉

Fair point. Having had one when I played it looked to me was moving too freely for a serious one and the back massage may have got him going to stay on. Then use the 15 days to get right

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
