Got my posters up yesterday & next plan is to put a spotlight under the flag to illuminate it at night. It can be seen flying during the day 500m away from down at the corner of my street. 😁

Where did you get the top poster that looks like an old WEG one? I would prefer that one to the one the Herald Sun are pushing.

Soooo how long can we leave our stuff up for until our houses get egged?

I've asked 12 non MFC supporters the question and most have said; after 57 yrs, as long as you like.

One person said; till preseason starts and I think I'll run with that. Mrs Dw has informed me that the 2 highest flags are never coming down ... ever.

Love the user name update!

I reckon wait til it's time for Christmas decorations and then have a 'red and blue' theme for those. Seamless.

Get some Demons up for Halloween as well

Ah lucky. I went in there and talked to the owner (son in law.) Very friendly

It's probably Demonland Royalty... the question is... which poster?

Missed this pre-game, so making amends now! Love the attention to detail with the team list. Got the 'Premiers' update (though maybe it was a pre-game prediction?!) In my region's 'Brahton', up the road from my modest village...20211015_153012.thumb.jpg.2b0083e651d6050f6ad7aaed76fc6bab.jpg

What should we take down our Dees gear ??

Mines staying up til lockdown ends!

Just curious, who else's are still up 😁😁

I'm thinking mine might go until past Christmas 😊😁

Lookout God, the Demons are back in charge and ruling Aussie Rules around here!! 😝😜

My lounge room decorations and streamers are still up.  Cat attacks them every now and then.

Still got the flag flying from the front porch. It’s easier for passers by to see since the cherry blossom tree on the nature strip blew down on Friday. I think I’ll do what that fella in East Melbourne does and fly it between our first and last game each season.

Friday’s crazy winds blew our side fence down and took our neighbour’s roof off but my decorations remain unscathed. It’s a sign. They’re not going anywhere anytime soon. 😁

For years I've been travelling from the south-east to Melbourne airport along CityLink past the Toyota Melbourne HQ where they have 18 flagpoles with the team flags flying in ladder order. I've been used to us being toward the western end of the flagpoles. This year I haven't been on that road once so missed seeing us positioned most of the time as the first flag you see when travelling west. I hope our team flag is up there now and still there until at least Round 1 2022, and hopefully longer.

Still up here (my even more modest pre-match display had babies at 3am on the morning of the26th...). I believe the circumstances demand they remain up for 57 days...

At least.

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
