As the MFC is allowing us to pass on our membership barcodes for WA Supporters to attend this Friday. Up to 8 tkts hit me up in inbox for my details. Only condition is I want a pic of you guys at the ground in the red and blue. I implore other members to offer the same.

Hmm I’m not sure that it’s a good idea…

I was sent this by the club. Is it legit or a scam?

MEMBER PRE-SALE

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 6

12PM-4PM (VENUE LOCAL TIME)

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 10

5:50PM (VENUE LOCAL TIME)

OPTUS STADIUM

Cassandra, Preliminary Final week is here, and it won’t be the same without you.

While so many of our members will be cheering on from home, the voices of our Demon family can still echo throughout Optus Stadium.

Help build a sea of red and blue by encouraging family and friends who can attend the game to represent those watching from afar.

If you know someone who would like to attend the game, you are welcome to pass on your membership barcode/s and allow them access to the member pre-sale when it opens:

Limit of eight (8) tickets per membership

You can purchase a maximum of eight (8) tickets in one transaction.

The AFL reminds all fans to continue to follow the advice of their respective state government and not to attend matches if feeling unwell.

I received similar emails for all of the memberships that I purchased.

8 person limit on tickets. also sends you your barcode. Seems legit.

A topic was just shut down because they mentioned this and was said we can’t endorse this. I just want to be sure

trying to post a screenshot of my email but it says the file is too large.

Mine is not worded the same as yours and does not mention transferring the code to others. Only that I can purchase 8 tickets on each membership.

  • Demonland changed the title to TICKETING: PF vs Geelong

I seem to recall giving my barcodes to a poster on 'Land last time we made finals. Actually, I recall quite a decent discussion about it.

Never had any problems with the person I gave the code to either.

**If this is against club membership rules then it may be a figment of my imagination and should be ignored as completely untrue**

I'm guessing there are two versions:  1) for interstate members who may want to use their ticket rights and 2) one for Victorians like @Cassiewwho can't go and can transfer their rights.

Edit:  Just saw your latest post:  In 2018 I also gave bar codes to other fans and never had any issues..

Ah yes of course.

That makes perfect sense.

Happy to share my barcode, seeing as the Club have endorsed it.

Not sure there's too much risk giving out barcodes as they are only valid for the current season.

Wouldn't be offering up Membership Nos. though.

I have 2 barcodes.  They can be used to purchase member pre sale tickets, up to 8 tickets per barcode. I would be thrilled to give these barcodes away to Melbourne supporters who can get to the game.  I don't see anything illegal/dodgy in it.  The club is encouraging this.  The email says "If you know someone who would like to attend the game, you are welcome to pass on your membership barcode/s and allow them access to the member pre-sale when it opens"

Message me if you would like these barcodes.

Add me to the list of supporter for 65 years who will miss being there but happy to hand on 2 barcodes = 16 possible tickets. PM me if you are an interstate supporter of the mighty Dees.

I'm in NSW. Don't think we'll get to zero covid by Friday

We have two memberships. Hit me up and definitely want a photo too.

Stand by for a message from Mr. E. McGuire of Toorak, who is seeking three tickets.

Said it once will say it again lots of tix up for grabs PM me

Awesome to see many offering their barcodes to get other Melbourne supporters to the prelim. Maybe keep one because I found a way to get some of you to Perth.
We distribute to Dan Murphy’s and BWS all over the country and we ship to WA daily. If you’re not frightened of confined spaces I can hide you in a pallet with an authentic shipping label. PM me.

I must be smelling a rat. Tickitec has our barcodes and they have our bank details so that you can purchase the ticket. This is done when you log on. I know you can change the details of your bank account but they would have access to this.

I realise that but there is only  one barcode per person.

I got sent two barcodes, not sure why as I am in SA. When I purchased tickets for the Brisbane game I forwarded one of the barcodes to a mate who signed in with his details and had no issues.

Hence I cant see how someone could access your personal info without knowing your login details.

There was a legendary scam years ago where some fourex delivery drivers would hollow out the middle of pallets of slabs of beer. Take half a dozen out of each pallet, then deliver them to liquor barns. No-one would notice when they were plonked on the store floor as customers would just take the slabs off the pallet.

They were selling the extra slabs from under their house to mates.

3 days across the Nullarbor surrounded by slabs of beer Sounds feasible to me.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • PREGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
