Selwood gave away the free kick just like Greene. This surely has to be looked at? Can't just have a scapegoat in Greene and not have consistency with Selwood.

Wasn’t even mentioned in the commentary. Three wise monkey approach. 

If we play our best, and Geelong play theirs, it's a 4 goal win to the Dees. To put it simply, in 2021 we are a better side.

The issue for me is that Selwood, Hawkins and Tuohy can be magnificent end-of-game players. They stank it up big time in our Round 22 match but I can't accept they will be that bad twice. With Duncan, Eva and Tuohy in, it does change the nature of their ball movement. 

We will win the midfield, and our defence should be good enough to cover their forwards. It comes down to our forward team pressure and goal kicking accuracy. Get this right, we win. 

This week is going to be interminable....

Dangerfield went to hospital.  So was Careless, High contact, high impact 3 weeks reduced to 2.

Kelly unhurt. So Careless, high contact, low impact. $1000 fine.  

Not saying that is ok but it’s the system

Last time they didn't have Ratugolea and instead had Dahlhaus, so there was a match up there.

I reckon this changes though with the extra tall they have.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Smith who take Cameron (remember he did do the job on him last year) and Lever takes Rohan

Lever doesn't exactly play on a tall, he plays on a medium to small forward because this allows him to play to his strengths as a intercept defender.

This is why Petty has taken the 2nd best tall forward.

Don't be surprised if its:

May - Hawkins

Smith - Cameron

Petty - Ratugolea 

Lever - Rohan.

And personally I don't think Lever is great when the ball is on the deck so having him on Rohan could be danger.

No I know that, Ratugolea did nothing last night except crash a few packs and Chris Scott was happy with his game. They'll try and put the Ratugolea match up on Lever as a negating role and expose him on on one if they can.

That's why I think they'll try and move Petty on to him, again this is freeing up Lever in not taking a tall. 

I think Smith suits Cameron. He'll match him in the air and on ground level. If he plays a full lockdown on Cameron then that'll certainly help our chances.

But Rohan hasnt exactly done anything the past month and a bit. He's lucky to be in the team especially after his woeful 1st final performance. He doesn't worry me.

Rohan likes to play higher up as well which Lever will just sit back and play his game. In fact I think last time Lever was at times matched up on Gryan Miers as well?

Rat is the new knuckle man, but I have put a bit into this bloke and I don't think that he is.

Their best side is looking a bit top heavy for mine, and I hope they continue with it.

Main thing for me is consistency. If you are going to pay knocking the hands and holding, both during marking contests don't forget to tell both Teams .We don't need any new rule of the week rubbish.

We don't want lunch at the Cats Coach's private resort before the game..

Yeah Rohan isn't in great shape (kicked two last night though) and is a notoriously invisible finals player, but for mine he has far more potential to turn a game than Ratugolea does. If Ratugolea even plays that is, we're all just assuming that's what the Cats will do. Should he play, I'm not particularly worried about him having an impact, so IMO that makes him the perfect matchup for Lever. Petty would be wasted on Ratugolea IMO.

Since coming back into the team, Smith has seemingly been used on small forwards so I'm not sure if they'll change that up now should he stay in the team.

Petty  and ratagolea are same height, harry a fraction lighter, but far better footballer

Smith has the tank to run with Cameron up the ground which is his speciality, just needs to be careful he's not turned inside  out with Cameron running back to Goal.

Completly takes Rohan out of the equation, whom l

I agree with this, but I think Rivers can take Rohan. There’s only a 1cm height difference between the two, and rivers has good wheels.

As always, will be won in the midfield. Accuracy will also be a huge factor. Can we apply enough post clearance pressure and can we take our chances forward of centre? Do both of those and we win IMV.

This may be my MFCSS running around in my head, but does Geelong have an advantage in recently play a game in Perth so they are a bit more familiar with the ground? I know we only played there 4-5 weeks ago, but I feel the fact that Cats have been in Perth the same time as us, played at Optus stadium and now have a 7 day break erodes some of the advantage we have in making the PF. I honestly think if Melbourne had been given the choice, we would have picked Adelaide Oval again.

Not a bad suggestion actually re Rivers/Rohan match up.

Those line ups are pretty much what I'd go with also.
