There's still significant spreading between households.

I'm not going to tell people what to do, but can only imagine cases will continue to increase leading up to the GF.ย

Irrespective of who makes the GF can imagine lots of ppl will visit mates/family on GF day (night), everyone suffering lockdown fatigue and covid-zero not achievable.ย

If you watched Dan's presser yesterday, you most certainly won't be able to, unless by some chance you live in regional VIC.

I do live in regional vic, with one of my kids still here but the rest are in Melbourne.

Dammit - another zoom call then!

All this talk of curfew, breaking the law, lock down, masks, etc....It's such a diabolical time to be living in Melbourne with nobody to share the spoils and celebrations with outside of your house.ย

If weย had the choice of winning the 2021 or 2022 flag (can't have both both) I'm choosing 2022.

I'm desperate to win both, but if I had the choice of one I'd choose the one where most of us are not in severe lockdown.

McGowan Gloats

Its one thing to gloat about denying Eddie entry, to '...keep him safe from West Australians'.ย ย Its quite another to disclose and brag about not paying the AFL a cent for hosting the GF.ย

I'm really surprised the AFL would agree to no payment, as a purported reason of having the GF interstate wasย to raiseย money as well as have crowds.

I wonder how SA and Qld feel about that disclosure, if they were prepared to pay...

McGowan:ย ย โ€œWeโ€˜ve just said weโ€™ll do a Covid-safe game if you come here - and we are not giving you any money and thatโ€™s your choice...So we drove a pretty hard bargain. I didnโ€™t want to hand over $20 million.โ€

Covid-safe?ย  Sure but he wouldn't hesitate to close down the event on the morning of the game.ย  No money, no crowds!!

Would rather the GF go to a State where it isย welcomed rather than used for political point scoring.ย ย

And it is very poor form to boast when his draconian border restrictions prevent us from attending.ย  It is like rubbing salt into a wound.ย  A bit of empathy for our plight and some diplomacy wouldn't go astray.

It is a privilege to host the GF and he should treat that privilege with some respect.

McGowan isย as smug as they come and there is a large component of the WA public that are particularly parochial sandgropers that feed off his smugness.

Heโ€™s just playing along to the theme that itโ€™s still WA vs Victoria like state of origin games of old. He can beย a total pillock at times.ย
Ironic that heโ€™s actually from New South Wales.ย

Cases are not as important as critical care and death numbers

Cases going up and othersย going down so after Vax should be no restrictions

Did anyone catch the news? Iโ€™m sure they said as of Monday only vaccinated Vics ย ( one jabย required) can enter WA. Need confirmation.ย

Zero chance people wonโ€™t be breaking rules to watch the grand final together. My dad is unwell and Iโ€™m an only child. Tomorrow both of us will be partially vaccinated. I have a valid reason to go see him as I do actually take care of him and help him out with things. I wonโ€™t be letting him watch the grand final without me, should we make it.ย
I assume many people will be stretching the rules to do the same and frankly, as a staunch follower of the rules for the past 213 lockdown days, I can no longer blame people.ย
We have reached a point where people are done mentally and emotionally. Itโ€™s terrible and it will stretch our medical system, but the resources for peopleโ€™s resilience are also finite.ย

Better hope you don't die between now and next year. Death by any cause would throw a spanner in the works I'd think. Give me the premiership this year in whatever capacity it comes.

After 64 I thought we winย premierships every other year.ย After 88, I was disappointed but I thought we will snag 89. Afterย 2000, I thought we were going to be it in 2001. Now a lifetime wiser,ย its get one ASAP. There is a rare opportunity here andย the wait for the next oneย may be decades away. Iโ€™m going to enjoy this one, if we get there and Iโ€™ll be hoping that we can pinch another one sometime over the next 3 or four years, which I can experience in person.

I do feel that this group has a couple in them.

It may be just coincidence, but Dan Andrews is aiming for 23 September - two days before the Grand Final -ย as the date when further lessening of restrictions on Victorians may be allowed. He has made clear, though, that the date is an estimate and the real number he will be watching is the number of people who have hadย at least one vaccination. It needs to get toย 70% and is on track to do so by that date. So, if you (I mean everyone, not just you, Jaded) want some more personal freedoms come 23 September, make sure you've had at least one shot of vaccine by then. Who knows - if we get vto 70% the Premier might even allow home visits for Melbourne supporters on GF day.ย ย

Elwood beach seems a popular place. We should all head there to watch if we make the GF.ย

Yep but you need to read the fine print for essential workers only pretty tight on who qualifies for this or Compassion that needs to be approved.ย  You still need 14 days quarantine test on day 3 and day 13.ย  It basically means if you couldn't get a permit before you can't get one now and if you could get one before you now need to have a Jab to get in.

Victoria is being upgraded from Medium to High Risk as of Monday 6th Sept, according to the G2G application website.

Approved travellers will need at least one dose of vaccine - but criteria for approved travellers will be further restricted. Absolutely no chance of getting approvals in the 5 days before you'd need to travel to have 14 days in quarantine before the game.

I got my first dose today! (I was booked in for Monday but the clinic didn't get their supply so got pushed out to today).

Literally jumped on and booked the very first day it was available. Both my husband and I will be fully vaxxed come October 11th... my parents 10 days later as they got AZ....ย I can't wait!ย
