We have done him a service getting Jim out of that horrible Richmond jumper.

Does anyone here know much about him?  "Kozzie light"?

Right we were on a roll and then....

Jacob, Blake, Taj, Judd and and Andy!!!  Garden variety Andy....still Moniz- Wakefield makes up for it and a hyphen too.

Seriously, Andy welcome and good luck.

Wow another fast, silky skilled, agile 18 year old player on the list who has great kicking skills, good size too at 180cm. Welcome  to the mighty Demons Andy Moniz- Wakefield, you are going to love being a Dee working with and being coached by the best. AMW,cool.

Congrats Andy and all the other 4 draftees.
All look to have exciting skills offering different ones to add to our required hardness determination and team ethics.

Terrific base for our Coaches to develop.

Tall swing man defender and stylish goal kicker  Leader on the field and some possible 2022 games on the radar for this key position recruit.

All round skilled outside high marking and long kicking centreman forward and wing prospect at 190cm. Exciting !! Could do anything in 2022.

Son of a gun who has dreamed of this day joins with a stellar WA Colts and local games 2021. Excels on both sides of his body and is a leader.

Judd is a medium/small defender with high skills and run off the backline mantra. Will develop nicely his game style under our elite coaching

Andy is one of our  NGA boys  who also possesses a high skill level and outside run. Like all recruits he will relish our culture and is an East Freo Shark like Dogga Rivand Taj and will develop ahead in leaps and bounds as a mid and forward  ball getter.

Exciting  times ahead.

We don't really have a player like him on the list. Hope he can develop well.

Likes to crack in and go hard at the contest.

Last bloke that came up from NT that showed similar traits was a bloke by the name of Mathew Whelan...

We might have to have Melbourne A and B sides, like the Australian cricket side did.

I agree Dante.  Our list now seems to be extremely well balanced by position and age democratic.

Well one thing, no one will be able to take their position for granted, there will be a contest for every spot.

Wow, did I really say that, it would be the first time ever, at the club, you could say that, it's so hard to believe.

Looks ok. I think he’s got the potential to be a half back or wing type runner.  I’d like to see him given a rookie spot and develop under Choco, wheels and Nev Jetta.

AMW … Welcome aboard to the Melbourne Footy Club

 👍🏻❤️💙

I had been thinking the same thing.

Number 45 Jumper just so happens to be available as well.

Whelan had great skills

Mustn't be any good or AFL would have found a way to stop us getting him like with Mac Andrew and stripping our northern zone and giving it to Suns etc etc.

Reminds me in a few ways of Gavin Wanganeen. Seems to have a very cool under pressure disposition despite saying he was nervous before the game and like him looks to have relatively short legs compared to his body so looks like he's buzzing along with a very rapid short stride.

Is his bottom as big as Gavins?  Just asking as I sat next to some Port supporters who predicted every free kick he got - stick bum out lean forward and get paid in the back

Would be fitting having another NT boy to don the number 45.

Spot on. #45 would be perfect.  Wheels as his mentor.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
