Freo's guernsey is an eyesore

It always has been. Regardless of which one they wear

So the status is this:

  1. Three more wins guarantees top 2
  2. Two more wins guarantees top 4
  3. One more win is not enough for top 4 unless and until Sydney loses a game (or Port loses twice)

And if you're wondering, had we beaten Hawthorn then the key difference would be that one win would make us much closer to guaranteeing top 4 - Sydney would have to win all three games and make up 13.5% to pass us on percentage.

That large percentage buffer over Sydney is useless because of the Hawthorn draw.

There is no reason why we should not win our next 2. I think we will play geelong twice in a row. It is b/w port and sydney for 4th place. Port better percentage.

We just have to keep winning.
nothing wrong with that

We need ladder pressure to keep us sharp. If we are too comfortable we invariably muck up.

Exactly right. Port will win tonight

Textbook goal kicking over in the West right now.

Terrible kicking for goal but the 3rd Q of the Freo v Tigers game is great to watch

There’s something about a team kicking a team lifting goal on the siren and that fox footy music kicking in while everyone gets around each other!

11 straight at Optus in the 2nd quarter

Is there a reason Fremantle are wearing their old jumper? And can I thank them for ditching it in the first place it’s bloody horrible.

So glad to see Tigers lose ....

McGuire is the worst commentator ever ... just gushing about Richmond the whole time.

Andrew Brayshaw is Clarry level good. Well potentially.

Freo have 8-9 first teamers injured. They will be some team in a year or two

He is well ahead of his brother,  probably for 2 years now.  He is great to watch. 12 tackles with his 39 touches!

I thought that was just a Fox Footy thing, anyway I certainly don’t miss that jumper hopefully Gold Coast do the same thing one day.

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
