Pity warmongering mass murderers like Churchill kept repeating history.

Sore loser?

Dieter I do hope you take that as very tongue in cheek.

Glad to see Hawthorn embrace The Curse of Alistair Clarkson, but less glad to know that he will go to Carlton or Collingwood.

It'll be interesting to see which Carlton side turns up on the park tonight given this development.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but geez as bad as the Hawks are; at least they didn't sack their coach of 13 years halfway through someone else's press conference like Port Melbourne just did...

Far out.

So Clarko to Port then!!

I have a great deal of respect for Caro and have been for many years regardless of what people think of her.

There is a reason why she has good well connected sources within clubs.

Yep its a disgusting industry to see how she was treated. It wasnt the first time either. The media need to take a long hard look at themselves because substitute Caro with Eddie, Whately, Robbo, Hutchy etc....no one would have come down that hard on any of the boys.

I wondered about this. It's not as young as it might first seem. Clarkson was 37 when he started; Hardwick was 38. Going back a bit further, Sheedy was 34, Matthews 34 and Barassi (as playing coach) was 29.

Edit: Clarkson is now only 53. Clearly young enough to take on another senior coaching job if he wants.

Interesting. Clarko was out of the game for 8 years and Hardwick 6 though. I thought clubs had pivoted away from taking on young coaches fresh out of the game like Mitchell 4 years back, and wanted extensive 5-10+ year apprenticeships, given what we've seen with Voss.

where was this respect when they got smashed by Freo in Tassie or beaten by the crows at Marvel in the last 3 weeks?

zero excuses, a shameful performance by us to draw that game.

Two years in a row we've ruined our chances.

I'd be very surprised if we have any success in September.

Clarkson would be fantastic for us. I reckon we've got the best list in the league. But yeah nah it's not going to happen.

The next 2 months will provide an indication on whether Goodwin is an ordinary to good coach or a fantastic coach that is on the brink of achieving greatness for this club.

If it’s looking like the former over the next 4 game, then we’ve got a bit of work to do and there’s someone fantastic available to steer a talented list to the promise land.

Watching the pre game fox footy show tonight and a quote from Gary Lyon in reference to the events today:

”I love the Hawthorn footy club. No I seriously do”

Interesting thing to say from Mr Melbourne himself.

You do realise his Father played for Hawthorn!

Honestly forgot that his Dad played for the Hawks.

Just assumed he was a casual Hawks fan growing up like the Ox was.

Still raised an eyebrow for someone who is so publicly a Melbourne man.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
