At least the commentary keeps me well informed on the game situation like a few minutes back when a Geelong point 'kept Carlton in with sniff'. They were four goals down and had kicked two for the entire game ffs.

It’s the behinds per second rule.

Dockers did a demolition job on the Hawks....surely, surely, the boys can switch on from the first bounce for a percentage boost.

We seem to get teams coming back from a poor result e.g. GWS.

Geelong player doesnt take the full 50m bringing him in range of goal?

....thats a new one.

Correct. They don’t play finals down there. They cry about it every year to remind you as well.

Thanks.

cant wait til the whinging begins

if the blues were even an average team they would have won today

GO SAINTS!

Looking at the bears forward line they could really do some damage against the saints.

COVID?

Great result for Saints tho. Hope they win but I’m not stupid enough to think they will. I’m backing Brisbane to not drop a game for the rest of the H&A season. Their draw is laughable.

Possible ACL to Hipwood. Awful for Brisbane, but also good news for any football sides who are hoping to compete against Brisbane this year for a Premiership (I hear this may include Melbourne).

Yes I am a terrible person.

The standard of games are really crappy again. So much for high scoring games. They are long gone.

Maybe SHocking can drop in another dozen rules changes in as he heads down to Kardinia Park.

You’re only saying what everyone else is thinking.

When I said you’re only saying what everyone is thinking, I meant about Hipwood’s ACL, not about you being a terrible person. Just wanted to make that clear. I’m sure you’re a very nice person. ?

Realised my original post could’ve been interpreted in a way that wasn’t intended

Hipwood looks bad. Ice on the knee on the bench.

Goal kicking is so bad in the AFL right now. Just atrocious.

  • AFLW REPORT: Gold Coast

The forecast said wind. The ladder said mismatch. The scoreboard said obliteration. Melbourne didn’t just beat Gold Coast — they dismantled them: 13.15 (93) to 0.6 (6). An 87-point obliteration, the Suns held goalless, and the Demons delivering their second-highest winning margin and third-highest score in AFLW history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #28 Will Verrall

It was a tough ask for him to break through as a 199cm ruckman in the shadow of an all-time great in that position who is also the club captain. He had some good days at Casey but was unable to progress and was delisted at the end of the season.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #29 Tom Campbell

The 33-year-old Campbell has yet to play AFL football for Melbourne, but his Casey form has been strong and he has been retained as a ready-made ruck depth option who is widely regarded as someone who is excellent for the culture of the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #30 Harry Sharp

The Demons acquired an interesting player in Sharp, who narrowly missed securing a spot in the Lions’ premiership team last year. The 22-year-old medium forward played in the opening round this season and ended up with 18 senior games, although he was substituted in or out in for ten of those matches. He demonstrated glimpses of form, but ultimately ended the year on the margins of the team.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch

Worked his way back after a slow start and a further slump in form going into the midseason but became a solid contributor for the club in the latter half of 2025. Closing in on 300 goals for the club.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.
