Massive game. Season defining.

Win and we take a huge step towards Top 4

Lose and we are in danger of the wheels coming off

Our form against the Top teams has been excellent so I expect a positive response

Our defense will keep us in it. Can we kick the goals?? The time is now BB

Genuine 50/50 call this one.

Go Dees.

Thank god I’m out tonight and can’t watch. Gee I hope we can turn it on. Just don’t think my ticker could handle how important this game is

I know there are arguments for a Melbourne win but I don’t give us a chance. I’m guessing it’s my MFCSS kicking in.

Having my best tipping year ever (2nd outright on Demonland, 211th of 584,687 countrywide), and haven’t tipped against us all year. Tonight I make the switch. Looking forward to my wheels falling off rather than the Dees. Go Redlegs!

I had to re-stock on spakfilla last Saturday after an errant boot collected an errant water bottle and put a dent in an errant wall.

Hoping I don't need to dig it out of the garage again tonight.

For me the drop in pressure has been a bigger issue than our forward line.  That same forward line seemed to be ok at the start of the year.  Hopefully it is a bit of a lapse and will return in the run home, and not something more serious.

We haven’t been touched up this year… I feel tonight is the night. Port by 48 points.

Can’t be serious, Port aren’t that good. They’ve beaten Swans and Tigers, lost to Dogs, Lions, Cats and Eagles.

I feel sick already.
I wish I could time-travel to this time tomorrow morning and I’d be reading the post-match thread  about how awesome it is to have buried Port.
GO THE MIGHTY DEES!!!!

❤️?❤️?❤️?

Potentially season defining match tonight, haven’t really won a match in hostile territory this season so this is a big one. I would love to see Ben kick 3+ to really stamp his place in our forward line for us to push ahead.

And how many in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters?

3 goal win coming up. Nothing to fear.

Why do people keep saying this match is season defining? What if we lose this one and win all of our other matches for the rest of the year? Is it even possible to determine which match is season-defining before there's a completed season to be defined?

We've demonstrated that we have the capability to so far beat four out of five of the other flag contenders, who unlike us have all taken points off each other at various stages. All teams have form slumps over the course of a 22-round season.

This is really just another match in that season. A loss to Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on a Thursday night wont define our season, but it may confirm that our slump is performance-related or structural rather than a motivational issue.

Well at least Goody has acknowledged our fwd line is broken.

Will be a tough game . Win this and we are proven contenders again.

Cant say Im confident.

Momentum.

Its part of what helped us get all those wins in a row.

Lose and we slip down the ladder. Self doubt.

More pressure. More changes. Less cohesion.

I understand where you are comimg from but footy just doesnt seem to go that way.

At least not our team?

Every time we’ve lost this year, we’ve bounced back and won the following week. It won’t be season defining as the season won’t be defined until the final siren sounds on our last match, but it will give us a decent indication of the trajectory we’re on.

We haven’t won an interstate away game so far this year, so this will also be a good indicator of our steel and ability to fight with our backs to the wall. So in that sense, it will be illuminating.

I don’t expect if we do lose that we’ll be opened up as our game style just doesn’t allow that. That being said, I expect a 4 goal Port win tonight.

GO THE MIGHTY DEES!!!!

❤️?❤️?❤️?

Id go back and pick up a few different players at some of the drafts.

We are the only contender not to lose to another contender. That's not going to change tonight. CARN THE DEES!!

Although heart stopping close game are great to watch if we win, I'm a bit sick of

being anxious the whole game as it seems most games this year. I hope we come out to play and don't give them a sniff all night.

Port's midfield ain't that great. Wines and an underdone Boak  just won't cut it.

We'll win this one by five goals.

We did win in Canberra in Round 3. I think that counts.

Confident of a win here. Pressure will be through the roof early. Spargo and Pickett will create havoc.

Can we at least win the first quarter.

And Ive changed my mind about it being good to see the team come out smiling and joking before the game. That they are enjoying themselves.

Now I want steel faces, death stares and attitude.

They can laugh after we win from now on.

Demons by 14 points.  We will return to form tonight. we have gone from looking top 2 to looking to fall out of the top 4.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
