AFL Reserve available from Friday 9am and Club members from Friday 10am according to Ticketek website. And due to Government regulations, Level 4 seating will not be available for this match.

For those wanting to attend I hope you get tickets.

Is this a joke?

If they are only having 25,000 for health and safety reasons then why pack us all in.

Sure they save dollars by not opening/staffing the top level but is this an exercise in saving money or saving lives?

DL, surely you've realised it is pointless trying to apply logic to Vic Govt guidelines...

No joke Andy. Same message appears on the Rich v Saints game when you look for tickets.

What is the capacity of level 4 anyway?
I am sure $ plays a part to do with it, but imagine contract tracing easier if one area is blocked off as such.

When I was at the cricket, I saw some bloke hop over the fence in level 4 of the members and then out the other end. He basically went scoreboard to scoreboard to change seats/meet people – would have crossed numerous zones in doing so.

10am FRIDAY?! Why so late? Why can't tickets go on sale tomorrow for gods sake?

Will there even be any tickets left by the time MCC and AFL reserve get theirs?

Just got mine so there must be some left. I only wanted one so that might have made it easier.

So gassed to get 4 seats in the MCC Level 2!

To be honest it’s a joke the Bombers play a home game at the MCG (and under normal circumstances would have made good coin from it) which isn’t their home ground / the game should be at Marvel, a ground I hate as much as Dimma.

There is no team I loathe more than Essendon - especially their supporters so I’ll be sick if we lose this one!

The good thing is when we lost to the Crows the response was beating 2nd and 3rd so hopefully we get the same kind of performance on Saturday!

We got 4 tickets in the MCC as well. Great stuff.

How many MCC tickets are they selling?

Bloody toffs are going to leave nothing for us plebs!

Seeing we are all proud sponsors of rossie, paxxie and hunty, surely they can sort tickets for the demonland life members?

I love that you use Dimma as your yardstick. ?

This is information that the MCC did not consider worth sharing.

If i can't get a ticket i'd love it if the MCC sell 25k tickets, leaving none for EFC members and therefore no revenue!

Were there limits on how many tickets you can get in one transaction? Earlier in the year it was called at 6 I think then they changed it to 10.

12 noon Friday apparently for MFC members. Looks like we'll be left with the dregs after MCC, AFL & Essendon members.

Anyone having trouble accessing an MCC ticket? The site keeps rejecting my barcode…over subscribed perhaps??

MCC said they members reserve would be at a capacity of 25%

the website says the capacity of the Mcc is just under 23,000

So using rough numbers a little under 5750.

The MCC has noted that the 25% limit applies to the members reserve,  approx 6000.  Reserve capacity is 25,000.

And of those 6000, most will be Dees supporters.

Quote off the MCC website.,

"...Under the measures announced by the Victorian Government, stadiums in Victoria will be permitted to operate to a maximum of 25,000 patrons at each game of this weekend’s AFL Round 15 matches. The Members’ Reserve capacity will sit at 25 per cent..."   and

"...members can reserve a ticket for themselves but will not be able to purchase visitor tickets...."

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
