Imagine not looking that good as a 21 year old, 12 game defender.

There is 0% chance they drop him now. Show him some belief. He will deliver in the back half of the year.

Even if he does (get better), he still won't be better than the alternative that gets all three of Brown, Wied and McDonald in the side.

I'm aware that Petty is the decision the coaches have gone with, and it's not going to change. I just think they're wrong.

I will be shocked if Petty turns out to be a better defender than Oscar McDonald was, and Oscar had his own limitations.

Kozzie's timing, positioning around the comtested packs tonight (so far) not as good as i've seen this season.

Hopefully coaches can straighten this up a little for 2nd half.

Same with a few other contests further out.  Front and square pls fellas.

Sydney are such a bore. I would hate to support such a boring team. I hate playing them for this exact reason. They grind you down.
Missed too many opportunities in front of goal. Should be 4 goals up.

Our games with Sydney are ALWAYS like this!

I know. I hate playing them. It’s never a good game. Even when (rarely) we win.
They are so frustrating to watch. I wanna unleash on my Sydney mate and tell her to stop ruining football for everyone... but I’m waiting to win first

Surprised not to see more love for May. Won some big 1on1 contests out there tonight

Cool. My position is that by the end of the season, having played every game between now and then, he'll have settled and established himself as an AFL quality key defender.

Let's meet back in the first round of finals and compare notes.

Pre-bandage Harmes was horrible. Poor decisions.

Post-bandage Harmes better. Perhaps the head bandage changed his mindset?

Bit in that.

Saw Williams pushing a few before the bounce, perhaps he could snap Harmes on the back of the head to get him going.

He had some brilliant little passages but he's been tagged quite hard now.

I also feel like there's always a slight drizzle and dew on the ground when we play them too. So predictable.

Why during our home game is there Luke  Parker drivel on channel 7. [censored] it off and talk about the signing of tracc

Few deep breaths.

Haven't played our best or even near it, 2 goals up at half time against a team sitting in the top 4, that alone shows mountains of improvement in this current squad. Big 2nd half here our fitness will come through, let's go

He’s been far from our worst - 15 possessions, 10 contested.

Ok.

Same pattern as prior games.

But 51 marks to 31 against.

41  to 34 tackles against.

9 to 1 centre clearances

Are some woorying stats.

Tidy up and more more pressure essential.

Petty does remind me of Omac

He needs some confidence (will come with time) and a big pre-season in the gym (strength not size).

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
