I reckon we will win in typical 2021 Melbourne style. Close for the first half and then have a Handy 6 goal win

It's actually enjoyable going tot he footy now and seeing this exciting team play.

Have no idea what to expect tonight. I think we should win but I hate seeing Franklin & Rampe back and our ins aren't giving me much confidence.

I expect May to take Buddy. Hickey has been in good form to Gawn will have his work cut out and the midfield should be a good battle.

Heeny out helps. If we lose at least we will still be top 2 but win and we can go even more clear of the team below us.

Can't hear anyone banging on about Shinboner Spirit at the moment.

Do we have one of the best forward lines going around?

Cats fwd line last night was awesome.

We are just yet to see its full potential.

If Tmac can play his best, hes as good as Hawkins maybe.

Fritra is our Rohan and Bbb can be better than Cameron.

If Tmac loses form he will be replaced by Sw.

Tmac was not good last week but has shown this year he is still a great player especially as a foward.

Add Luke J to the mix and its a deadly combo with our smalls in Spargo and Kozzie.

So since the others have shown great effort it hangs on Bbb to strut his stuff.

Thought he was quite good last week and aside from two goals was instrumental in two more.

Geelong showed the power of three proven dangerous guns in their attack.

I think we will tonight.

So glad that Frittas playing.

Dees by six with Swans missing lots of chances instead of us.

Trac to tear it up with Kozzie and Harmes surprising many with a great performance.

2 x Free Adult reserve seat tickets for tonight.

Have been away and totally forgot that I opted in to get tickets via our memberships so happy to give away to someone that hasn’t yet organized tickets for themselves.

Seats are on Level 2 and each adult seat comes with a child seat (age up to 5) with it - but the child seat was free / included so doesn’t have to be utilized.

Direct Message me on here if keen.

Cheers

Any word on if Melksham will play since his wife just gave birth today?

If he’s out, do we think Sparrow or Jones will be the late in?

It would appear that the MCC is booked out tonight so is it going to be a big crowd?

Maybe the baby can kit up and take papa's place  tonight.Alot of posters on this forum would agree. Iol  I hope  The Shake plays. He should be fired up for a big night.

Sounds terrific but hard to believe. Rain in the evening and a interstate side. Must be loads of seats avaiable.

The annoying thing about my wife is that she feels the need to remind me to do something she already told me about 6 months ago !!

Melbourne won't be flat today. They had their bad one against the Kangas.

Sydney have had a disrupted week, with covid scare. Coaches missing and anxiety states will have its mental effect, hopefully in a negative way. There will be less time to review and work on the lessons from the game against the Cats.

Tracc to show why his big contract was appropriate, with other new contracted players standing up together, Oliver and Salem. It will be a sign of our stability.

Need more selfless acts, so it is action and not a thought bubble.

Angry Dees, time to belt this lot and continue to change the dialogue of, "no fight". We are hard to beat, as we play for the 120 minutes. Sydney will have to be on to keep up with us.

BBB to do more after he got the "rust" out of his system.

Backline to keep on keeping on.

I want to see a more active midfield at the stoppages.

Our runners and link players have been breaking lines and assume this will happen again. Sydney could work hard to block, nulify and disturb our flow. I expect a dour game from them as they try and stem the flow of goals. If they try to play in our forward area and counter, they will be smashed because our conversion of inside 50 is much better than in the past and our backs are smart and have a great structure.

Our ball movement, execution and decisions, and the pressure we bring to the game has been outstanding.

Training with a smile, then with the seriousness of the knowledge that we are hunted. We will turn that round and hunt those underfed Swans. We are confident, with plenty of buy in and a good system.

Challenging games will get us up and going. Do the basics well, and trust in our way.

Own the G, Go Dees.

Ahhh so miss the sixties and seventies....

Looking at the radar is looks like there will be a fair bit of run hitting towards the start of the game.

LOVE this!!!

I’m nervous af right now. I liken game day to going on a long haul flight: you’re nervous/excited/anxious on the day of, leading up to the bounce (take-off), you can only relax once the siren goes and we’ve won (touchdown) and you hope like hell that the people around you in forced close proximity don’t ruin your experience with nasty belligerent behaviour - talking to you, Collingwood thugs - (crying babies, passenger next to you who won’t stop talking to you and has bad breath).
That last bit happened to me last year . 15.5 hours of drivel and halitosis. ?

Probably out to prove North were so wrong.

That aside from last years poor showing that he really still is the best full forward in the comp like he was in 2019,2018and 2017.

And now he is a team better than North will do even better.

Go bbb.

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
