Really ???,  loved hIm  in  2018 But too injured and never the same.

Frankly saved him from delisting by going to Dogs.

Maybe you also want Lent back!!!!'

Seriously Chandler should get call up for Baker.

And Harmes for Jones.

In Petty, Weideman ,Chandler. Out Jones (RDO) , Melksham (med sub) , Tomlinson. Almost same as Supreme_Demon with out the Jones boy.

I still have big doubts on the Brown/McDonald/Fritsch/ruckman combination, especially if it's a slippery night. My guess is one of those guys - likely McDonald - takes a spell on the wing for at least some part of the game to mix the forward line look up.

Sparrow and Petty for Baker and Tomlinson seem the likely changes.

Given he played practically a full game last week I'd have Jones as the medical sub and give the young guys a good run at Casey.

I think we need to try both TMac and Petty options before we commit to a longer term solution. Also having TMac as a pure winger is being overlooked. This would allow both Weid and Petty in the team and is what TMac actually trained for. Only problem is what this will do for rotations and in particular Angus Brayshaw, whom was quite ordinary in the middle on the weekend.

Tmac as a pure winger !!!!

in my dreams

he is a KP player and that luxury on a wing was to get him tuned up for forward running in 2018.

Toms  brain no longer needs such tricks !

Gins at CHF and just a switch on the odd occasion like last Sunday  into defence when needed.
Harry Petty to CHF if that happens.

I’m very nervous about the three talls forward too DeeSpencer. It really looked bad in the first half against North, TMac was unsighted, Ben Brown was often double teamed and out marked but when he did bring the ball to ground it felt like our forwardline pressure, which had been fantastic the first 6 weeks, was non-existent. Gawn didn’t do much resting forward either. When TMac moved back we looked a different team.

Also I’m excited for Petty but the difference between Petty’s game against Hawthorn and Tom’s second half back against North was marked, Harrison better play a vastly better game if he comes in this week. Particularly if Buddy is back.

I still would prefer:

Tmac Back, Jones Sub

Tomlinson, Baker Out

Sparrow, Chandler in

but if we’re insisting on Petty I guess it will be:

Tomlinson, Baker out

Petty, Sparrow in

Melksham is on thin ice. I’d be tempted to drop him for Chandler or Bedford.

Petty's second half against Hawthorn was pretty good too. That Hawthorn game had 3 tall forwards and the pressure didn't work then either.

I think Melksham for another pressure small will be considered but overall I think Melksham gives us 5 on ballers (Petracca, Oliver, JJ, Sparrow, Melk), which means the 4 of those apart from Oliver can all play a decent amount forward and contribute to the pressure whilst keeping fresh.

The forwards chasing and harassing to create pressure only works when paired with the mids covering all the exists, so we can't get too light on for mids.

Yeah I agree on Melksham which is why I think he stays in, he adds a midfield rotation which is valuable. But he was close to our worst, particularly in the first half this week so if he keeps that up I think another small forward might be more value?

Petty’s second half was good against Hawthorn, but his first half wasn’t AFL standard. Tom has been in great form all year and I think a lot of his deficiencies from when he used to play back have improved. I’m nervous about Petty. Hopefully he plays a blinder and the three tall forwards rip it up and smash the swans. I just hope match committee aren’t being too stubborn re Tom back.
One other little thing is that when Jacko goes in the ruck and Gawn rests forward the Gawn/Brown forward fifty looks a lot less mobile and provides a lot less pressure than the Gawn/McDonald forwardline. Perhaps Ben Brown needs to get up the ground when Max is forward? We shall see I guess.

Let's hope Brown has a paddock for him

Can't recall seeing him often play at the MCG

Can anyone find his career stats when he has played there?

They touched on this in the podcast, it seems like he has played at every ground in Australia more than he has the MCG - including Hobart and the Gabba.  Very excited to see what he / Fritsch / Kozzie can do together.

I am assuming that Viney is out for a second week, in which case, I would bring Harmes in!

is anyone worried about our first half's this year? We've been so slow out of the gate in almost every game this year. Rich, North, Hawthorn, Fremantle, Stkilda amongst some others. I hope we can switch on from the start this week.

Watching Harmes last week in the VFL, he didn't really star in a 100 point win and I don't think he's ready yet.

Sparrow is fit, fills Vineys role well and is slowly improving.

Harmes needs to earn a spot and be match fit.

1. Petty has more up-side than Weideman (imho)

2. Both McDonald and Petty can play either forward or back, therefore can swing during the match if necessary. Weideman can’t back, therefore there’s more flexiblity.

Worried isn’t the word I’d use but I have noticed it, probably the better stat on the other side is that we haven’t lost a last quarter yet so fitness wise we seem to outlast the competition. It merits the coaches having a look at it to try to rectify it.

That's a great point.

Tom has a bigger tank and covers more ground. He provides a better marking target up the field and above all else, I still think he's a much better mark than the Weid.

I'm still not sold on Weids marking ability above all else. I'm sure he'll get his chance this year in the seniors but Petty and Tmac is a better option.

Jesus, Petty is only 21 still! Feels like he has been around for a long time.

reckon I’ve been a bit harsh on him for a lack of composure at times. Hopefully it comes. His hands are great and looks a good lock down defender.

good luck to the kid

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
